You know what caught me off guard about Maritina Apartments? The location is actually perfect – and I mean that in the most practical way possible. It’s tucked away on Sotiros Street in Ixia, which honestly feels like you’ve found this sweet spot between the touristy chaos of Rhodes town and the quieter residential areas where actual Greeks live. I was expecting typical tourist trap vibes, but walking around here, you’ll hear Greek being spoken in the little tavernas more than English, which is always a good sign.

The apartments themselves are solid – like, genuinely well-maintained solid, not just “looks good in photos” solid. I appreciated that they actually soundproofed the place properly because Ixia can get a bit lively during summer nights, but inside you can barely hear the street noise. The kitchenettes are small but functional (I made coffee every morning without wanting to throw anything), and honestly, the balconies are where you’ll spend most of your time anyway. From most rooms you can catch glimpses of the Aegean, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a higher floor, the sunset views are… well, let’s just say I took way too many photos. The whole place has this relaxed, lived-in feeling that four-star places sometimes miss – it’s comfortable without trying too hard to impress you.

What really makes this spot work is how walkable everything is once you know the area. There’s a decent beach about a seven-minute walk down the hill – not the most stunning on the island, but perfectly fine for a morning swim and way less crowded than the main Ialyssos stretch. The local bus stop is practically around the corner, which is clutch because Rhodes town is only about fifteen minutes away and you’ll definitely want to explore the old city. I mean, staying here gives you that nice balance where you can duck into Rhodes for dinner and culture, then come back to somewhere that actually feels peaceful. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s street parking that locals seem to respect, and the staff at check-in actually drew me a little map showing the best spots. That kind of thoughtfulness shows up in small ways throughout the place, which probably explains that 8.7 rating. It’s not flashy, but it just… works really well for what most people actually want from a Greek island stay.

  We stayed here for a month & absolutely loved it!!!!
  The family that run it are friendly, helpful & good people.
  Our room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels, our cleaning lady was wonderful.
  The pool area was gorgeous, spacious & plenty of sun loungers.
  The apartment was very comfortable & big enough, with a great patio.
  We would 100% recommend to anyone who wants a peaceful stay but close to everything

  Great quiet apartments, swimming pool, bar, great staff. Everything you need for vacation with your family for good price. And everything like groceries, shops, great restaurants and beach are near to this place.

  Room was clean, well maintained and the beds where super comfy. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Informed them that there was no toaster in the room and within no time at all they supplied us with a breville sandwich maker mmmmmmm.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately the pool was being maintained so was unavailable, saying that we were informed prior to our stay and the weather was too cold anyway.

  Nice modern apartments, having own washing machine was really handy.
  
  What could be improved: I would advise property managers to renew cookware in the apartments. We booked 3 rooms. All rooms had different set of pans and fries. I ended up buying my own pan and left it behind. Also having a dustpan would have been handy as there is also lots of sand on the patio after a beach day.

  Beautiful family-run apartment hotel that is a hidden gem in Rhodes. Perfect location just 5 mins walk from the beach and large supermarket. Easy access to both Rhodes town and the airport by direct bus. The apartments are immaculate with a lovely pool and garden area. Fantastic value and service from super friendly staff, can't wait to go back!

  Great location in Ixia set back from the main busy road in a pretty residential area. Easy walk to beach,bars and shops including a large supermarket. The Maritina is set in pretty gardens with a lovely pool and great sunbeds. There is a bar selling spirits, bottled beers,wines and soft drinks.A selection of cocktails and coffees also available the Frappe were delicious.A snack menu is also on offer.The apartments are spacious, fully equipped and have a modern decor, we had a ground floor apartment with a large patio and small garden. In the main garden there is a large BBQ for guests to use.
  The hosts were welcoming and helpful and as we had a late flight kindly let us keep our room on.
  
  What could be improved: There was nothing not to like.
