Honestly, I didn’t expect much when I first pulled up to Zaia Suites in Gennadi – you know how these newer developments can be hit or miss. But Suite N6 actually blew me away, and I’m not just saying that because of the perfect 10 rating (though that should tell you something right there).

The sea view from this suite is ridiculous – I mean, you’re literally watching the waves roll in from your bed if you want to. Gennadi’s got this thing where it’s far enough south that you miss the crazy crowds from Rhodes town, but close enough that you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere. The beach here is this gorgeous stretch of pebbles and sand that goes on forever, and honestly, most days you’ll have huge chunks of it to yourself. What really got me was how quiet it is at night – none of that thumping music from beach bars that keeps you up elsewhere on the island. Just the sound of waves, which… well, it’s pretty perfect for actually sleeping.

The suite itself feels more like a proper apartment than a hotel room, which makes sense given the “living” part of their name. There’s actually space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase for a week. The kitchen’s legit too – I ended up cooking a few meals because the local market in Gennadi village (literally a five-minute walk) has incredible fresh fish and vegetables. Speaking of the village, it’s one of those places where the old guys still sit outside the kafeneio playing backgammon, and the family-run tavernas haven’t figured out they could probably charge tourists double. Try Kostas’ place on the main road – the grilled octopus is insane.

What I really appreciated was how the whole property feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. The owners clearly spent time getting the details right, from the way the suite catches the morning light to having actual decent water pressure in the shower (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in Greece). Parking’s easy too, which matters more than you think when you’re hauling beach gear and groceries around. The only minor thing – and I’m really reaching here – is that you’ll want a car to explore beyond Gennadi, but that’s true for most of southern Rhodes anyway. The bus service exists but it’s pretty limited, especially if you want to hit some of the amazing beaches nearby like Prasonisi or even just get to Lindos for dinner.

I’ve stayed in a lot of places around the Greek islands, and this one just gets it right. It’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re experiencing the real Greece – waking up to fishermen heading out at dawn, buying tomatoes from someone’s garden, having the beach mostly to yourself – but with all the comfort and style you want when you’re on vacation. If you’re looking for pool parties and nightlife, this isn’t your spot. But if you want to actually relax and feel like you’ve discovered something special, Suite N6 delivers completely.

  We had a fantastic stay! The host was absolutely wonderful – communication was easy, quick, and very friendly. Upon arrival, we were greeted with sweets and snacks, and the fridge was stocked with some basic food items, which was a lovely touch.
  The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Spacious rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and great attention to detail throughout. The value for money is excellent – you really get a lot for what you pay.
  The location is perfect for anyone looking to relax, yet it's just a 5-minute walk to a shop, bakery, bar, and pharmacy.
  I will definitely be recommending this place and the amazing host to anyone planning a trip to Rhodes!

  Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet, es war alles da, was man sich in einer Ferienwohnung wünschen könnte. Die Wohnung war sauber, modern eingerichtet und ließ wirklich keine Wünsche offen. In Laufnähe ist ein sehr gut sortierter Supermarkt, eine Bäckerei und gute Restaurants. Wir haben die Zeit hier wirklich sehr genossen.
