So I stumbled across Zacosta Villa Hotel completely by accident – well, actually my taxi driver got lost trying to find another place and suggested this spot instead. Best mistake ever, honestly. It’s tucked right into Xenofontos Street in Rhodes’ Old Town, and I mean *right* in the medieval heart of everything. You know that feeling when you walk through those massive stone gates and suddenly you’re in a different century? This place sits perfectly in that bubble.

The thing about staying inside the Old Town walls is that you’re literally sleeping where knights used to walk around – the cobblestones outside your window are the same ones from like 600 years ago. Zacosta Villa gets this balance right between honoring that history and actually being comfortable. The building itself has this gorgeous stone facade that blends seamlessly with everything around it, but step inside and it’s clearly been renovated with care. No weird modern clashes or trying-too-hard boutique nonsense. The rooms feel substantial – thick walls mean you don’t hear much street noise, which is clutch because Xenofontos can get lively during the day with all the foot traffic heading to the Palace of the Grand Masters.

What really won me over was how the staff actually knew the area. Like, when I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just rattle off tourist traps – they sent me to this tiny taverna three streets over where locals eat. And parking? Look, if you’re driving in Rhodes Old Town, you’re brave or foolish (maybe both), but they sorted out a spot outside the walls and gave me the real scoop on the shuttle timings. The whole experience felt refreshingly unscripted. I spent mornings wandering the Street of the Knights – literally a five-minute walk – then afternoons exploring the harbor area. Come evening, while day-trippers headed back to their resort hotels, I got to experience Old Town as it settled into that golden hour quiet. There’s something magical about having medieval streets mostly to yourself, especially when you can duck back to a comfortable room with proper air conditioning and a decent shower. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t just about thread count or marble bathrooms – it’s about location that money can’t usually buy and staff who seem genuinely invested in making sure you understand why Rhodes Old Town is special.

  This little gem can be found down a little lane, just a short walk from the busy area, tucked away behind a wooden door.
  It's really pretty & has everything you'd need for a stay in Rhodes old town.
  The staff of 2 are incredibly helpful and kind. George picked us up from the port in a golf buggy & took us back. He also gave us useful tips for places to eat.
  It was my husband's Birthday & they played & sang to "happy birthday " whilst lighting a candle on a gorgeous little cake. The surprise continued with champagne back in the room.

  The hotel itself is located really centrally to the old town but also hidden away – so like a little oasis
  The staff were definitely the highlight – we felt like royalty with them checking in just the right amount and offering to assist with any bookings or when our travel plans changed
  Special shout out to George who was lovely and made our stay really special – still one of the best Aperol Spritz’s we’ve had
  Thank you for adding so much to the holiday – if we’re ever in Rhodes again we will be back and definitely would recommend to anyone

  Mr. Yannis took us from the Ferry port with the buggy and delivery Zacosta hotel safely and during our short trip he advised the old town historical places and at the end of our holiday George delivery to us outside of the old town by buggy and we went to Airport by car which George arranged.George was excellent helpful and explained all were our questions.Breakfast was almost perfect.Thanks.

  It was quaint, the room large, the bed comfortable.

  Communication was excellent and we were met from the ferry by the owner with a buggy to take us and our luggage to the hotel. We were given a bottle of wine on arrival and the room was air conditioned with an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was excellent with a huge variety of food to choose from. On departure, we were again transported back to one of the city gates and a taxi was booked for us to take us to the airport. We would definitely stay again, this already being our second visit.
