You know what caught me off guard about Villas Mina? The silence. I mean, you’re still in Greece – there’s still the cicadas doing their thing and the occasional motorbike puttering down the main road through Gennadi – but it’s this pocket of calm that honestly feels worlds away from the chaos up north in Rhodes Town. The property sits just far enough from the village center that you get this authentic Greek experience without feeling completely cut off from civilization.

The villas themselves are what I’d call “properly Greek” – none of that generic Mediterranean white-box stuff you see everywhere. They’ve got character, you know? Stone details that actually look weathered in a good way, not fake-aged, and these little terraces where you’ll find yourself having coffee at weird hours just because the morning light hits different here. The owners clearly get that people want space to breathe – each villa feels private without being isolated, and there’s actual room to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. What really sold me was the attention to details that matter: the shower pressure is solid (trust me on this one), the kitchenettes are actually functional if you want to grab fresh tomatoes from the village, and the beds are firm enough that you won’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a marshmallow all night.

Here’s the thing about Gennadi that most people don’t realize until they get here – it’s positioned perfectly for exploring the southern tip of Rhodes without the tourist bus madness. The beach is literally a five-minute walk, and I’m talking about proper sand, not those pebbly affairs you find in some spots. During shoulder season (late May or early October), you might have whole stretches to yourself. The village has a few genuine tavernas where locals actually eat – look for the one with the blue chairs, they do this lamb dish that’ll ruin you for other places. Parking’s never an issue, which sounds boring but you’ll appreciate it when you’re hauling beach gear or groceries. And honestly? The 9.4 rating makes sense once you’ve been here a few days. It’s not trying to be a resort with entertainment programs and poolside activities – it’s just a really well-thought-out place to stay while you explore this part of the island at your own pace. The kind of spot where you end up extending your stay because you realize you’ve actually been relaxing for the first time in months.

  The villa is very nice, the beach really near. It is located in an really quite area. The main house has everything you need and really comfortable beds. Pool was also very nice. Price money value is great
  
  What could be improved: The only issue we had was that the beds in the other house (not main house) are very hard and the pillow are big and hard as well. And there are no mosquito nets in the other house, so we always had mosquitos in the room.

  Good location and clean house, good pool. There are three villas that I believe share the pool. I think two of them come as one – Villas Mina but I thin the third villa might be possible to rent separaently so you might have other people renting next to you and using the pool? We didnt have anyone else so it wasn't a problem but I'd want that clarified if you wanted privacy. We were there just after the fires and they even put in a temporary wifi for us as the main lines had got damaged in the fire but it was fixed during or stay
  
  What could be improved: Villa was just a little bit old and would have been greta to have some more local info about places to go, restaurants etc, there was literally no info in the villa, We just did some googling and found some great places. Coudl have done with some inflatables for the pool but we just went and bought some. Although the villa is 150m from the beach at that part of the beach (it's all stony beaches in this area) there are no sun loungers or anythigng to rent so you're either just sat out in the baking sun or you need to drive to another beach where you can use sun loungers and umbrellas.

  Ett väldigt välskött och välorganiserat boende där allt man behöver finns. Värden var mycket tillmötesgående och ställde upp och hjälpte oss med det vi behövde. Vi kunde även rådfråga honom om det var något vi behövde mer information om. Det fanns en grill som vi kunde laga mat på. Närheten till havet uppskattades men poolen blev mest använd. Vi hade två barn på 2,5 år och 6 år som badade massor. Vi hade en stor yta som tillhörde husen. Vackraste stället i omgivningen.
  
  What could be improved: Det finns ingen supermarket i direkt anslutning till boendet men det fanns på promenadavstånd.
