You know what caught me off guard about Villager’s Art Apartment? I was expecting some generic rental, but this place actually feels like staying in someone’s carefully curated home – if that someone happened to have really good taste in art and knew how to make guests comfortable. It’s tucked away in Paradisi, which honestly took me a minute to find the first time (the GPS gets a bit confused once you’re off the main road), but that’s sort of the charm of it.

The apartment itself is this interesting mix of traditional Greek touches and contemporary art pieces – not the tourist-trap stuff you see everywhere, but actual pieces that make you stop and look. The owner clearly has connections in the local art scene, and there are these little explanatory cards next to some of the works that give you context about the artists. I mean, it sounds pretentious when I describe it, but it’s not at all – it’s more like discovering your friend has way cooler taste than you realized. The space is generous too, with high ceilings that keep things cool even during those brutal August afternoons when the sun just won’t quit. There’s this lovely terrace where I ended up spending most mornings with coffee, watching the neighborhood slowly wake up.

What I really appreciated was how the place strikes this balance between being polished enough for a proper vacation but lived-in enough that you don’t feel like you’re going to break something expensive just by existing. The kitchen actually has everything you need if you want to cook – and you should, honestly, because the local market in Paradisi center (maybe a ten-minute walk) has incredible produce. Parking was easier than I expected; there’s a spot that comes with the apartment, which is a godsend because finding parking around here in summer is basically a contact sport. The whole area gets pretty quiet after dinner time, so you’ll sleep well, though you might hear the occasional motorbike heading to the main road. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no corporate nonsense, just clear instructions and a host who actually responds to messages. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying an extra day because leaving feels premature, you know?

  Apartment was 10 minutes walk from the airport. The place was clean and had a working Aircon. Perfect place to stay if you arrive at Rhodos late and need to sleep somewhere. Thank you for having us.

  Very convenient location, only a 10 mins walk from the airport. Vet clean with beautiful decor and lovely little touches like biscuits and cold water in the fridge. The host is very responsive. Would definitely stay there again.
