You know what struck me first about Villa Zambaka? It’s this gorgeous traditional Greek villa tucked away in Kalithies – and I mean really tucked away, not the fake “secluded” spots that are actually on main roads. The address says Ελεούσης street, which honestly took me a minute to find even with GPS, but that’s part of its charm. When you finally pull up (and yes, there’s proper parking, thank god), you get this immediate sense that you’ve stumbled onto something special. The building itself has that authentic Rhodian architecture – you can tell it’s been lovingly maintained rather than just slapped together for tourists.

What really gets me about this place is how the owners actually seem to care about the details that matter. The rooms are spotless without feeling sterile, and there’s this perfect balance of traditional Greek elements with modern comfort. I stayed there during shoulder season in late September, and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better – still warm enough for the pool but without the summer crowds that can make Rhodes feel overwhelming. The location in Kalithies is brilliant if you know the area – you’re close enough to hit Faliraki’s beaches (maybe 10 minutes by car) but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the party noise at night. Actually, the evenings here are incredibly peaceful – just cicadas and the occasional sound of life from the village center.

Here’s the thing that sealed it for me: the hosts genuinely know their stuff about the island. Not in that rehearsed concierge way, but like actual locals who can point you toward the beach that’s less crowded on Tuesdays or the taverna where the lamb is actually worth ordering. The 9.7 rating makes complete sense when you experience the place – it’s those little touches like having decent Wi-Fi (rare in some Greek villages, let’s be honest), really good water pressure in the shower, and air conditioning that actually works efficiently. I mean, these might sound basic, but you’d be surprised how many “charming” places get these fundamentals wrong. Villa Zambaka nails the sweet spot between authentic Greek hospitality and the practical comforts that make a vacation actually relaxing instead of an endurance test.

  The location was perfect and easy directions from the host. The host could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay so easy and perfect. The villa had everything you could possibly need and pool/outdoor area was beautiful and spotless. We would definitely recommend and we would stay here again.

  The villa was quite newly built, so everything worked as expected. It was situated in a nice quiet road and the pool area was private. The pool was a very good size. The villa was comfortable inside. The welcome host (Tina) was super friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: Not much to dislike. Obviously you need a car if you stay here (but we always have one anyway). If I was being picky, I would suggest a motion-sensor courtesy light above the front door to help illuminate it when arriving after dark. Please note, the google earth co-ordinates for the villa position in booking.com are inaccurate ! (at time of writing this review).

  Beliggenhet, fint basseng, fint hus. Hyggelig og imøtekommen vertskap. Det var rent og god orden i huset og ute. Meget bra. Vi var 4 personer og kommer til å komme tilbake .
