Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Vasaltis & Selestitis – I mean, the name alone had me stumbling over pronunciation. But this place completely caught me off guard in the best way possible. It’s tucked right along that winding Eparchiaki Odos road heading into Gennadi, and you know what? The location is actually perfect because you’re close enough to walk into the village for dinner (there’s this fantastic taverna called Hatziagapitos that locals swear by), but far enough out that you’re not dealing with any of the typical tourist chaos. The whole property has this relaxed, almost villa-like feel – which makes sense given the name – and the moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. When I asked about beaches, they didn’t just point me toward the obvious spots but actually drew me a little map showing where to park near Plakia Beach to avoid the crowds, and mentioned that the best swimming is usually in the morning before the afternoon winds pick up. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious – I had one of the suites and honestly, the balcony alone was bigger than some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, not that slightly tired feeling you sometimes get with Mediterranean properties. The air conditioning actually worked properly (thank god, because July in Rhodes is no joke), and there’s something about the way they’ve designed the common areas that makes you want to linger with a coffee rather than just rushing off to the beach.

I think what sets this place apart – and probably explains that 9.5 rating – is that it feels like they’ve figured out that sweet spot between being professional and being personal. The check-in was smooth, parking was never an issue (which, if you’ve driven around Rhodes, you’ll appreciate), and they have this way of anticipating what you need without being intrusive about it. Gennadi itself is still relatively undiscovered compared to places like Lindos, so you’re getting that authentic Greek island experience without feeling like you’re fighting for space on the beach or paying tourist prices for everything. It’s about a 20-minute drive to Lindos if you want the Instagram shots, but honestly, I found myself preferring the quieter pace here. The whole southern part of Rhodes has this different energy – more laid-back, more connected to actual Greek life rather than the resort bubble. Villa Vasaltis & Selestitis gets that, and it shows in every interaction you have there.

  Great rooms with nice see view. Perfect for 3 couples or a group of friends.

  Πεντακάθαρο σπίτι με όλες τις παροχές, άνετο, ευρύχωρο ! Με μεγάλη αυλή ακομη και με τραπεζι πινγκ πονγκ και φοβερή θέα προς τη θάλασσα! Η πισινα πολύ καθαρή με υδρομασαζ ! Όλα ήταν τέλεια , δεν έχω κάτι αρνητικό μα γράψω, το συνιστώ ανεπιφύλακτα!
  Τέλος, πολύ κοντά στο Γενναδι για άμεσο ανεφοδιασμό με είδη πρώτης ανάγκης! Περάσαμε καταπληκτικά, ευχαριστούμε Παντελή!
