Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Villa Sunset? It’s not actually right in Kalavarda village – it’s tucked up on this little hillside about a ten-minute walk from the main strip, which honestly turned out to be perfect. I mean, you’re close enough to wander down for dinner at those family-run tavernas (there’s this one called Mikros Paradisos that does incredible lamb), but far enough away that you don’t get the late-night chatter from the bars drifting up to your room. The walk back up is a bit of a climb after a few glasses of local wine, but the view you wake up to makes it worth every step.

The hotel itself has that relaxed Greek island vibe without trying too hard – you know those places that feel like someone’s elegant aunt decided to open her summer house to guests? The rooms are actually spacious, which surprised me since a lot of these 4-star places on Rhodes can be pretty cramped. Mine had this beautiful stone accent wall and a balcony that looked out over the olive groves toward the sea. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in July, trust me), and the Wi-Fi is solid throughout the property, though honestly you might not want to use it much once you see that sunset they named the place after. The pool area is where most people end up spending their afternoons – it’s got this infinity edge that makes you feel like you’re floating above the landscape, and there are enough loungers that you don’t have to do that awkward towel-claiming thing at dawn.

What really sets Villa Sunset apart is how the staff actually seems to care about the place. The guy at reception – I think his name was Nikos – gave me this hand-drawn map showing the best beach spots and which bus to take to Lindos (skip the organized tours, the public bus is like 3 euros and drops you right at the entrance). The breakfast is proper Greek fare, not some international buffet nonsense – fresh local yogurt, honey that tastes like it came from hives next door, and bread that’s still warm. They’ve got this little bar area where people gather in the evenings, and it never feels forced or fake, just naturally social. Parking is free and easy, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to explore the island. The only tiny complaint I’d have is that the rooms facing the mountain can be a bit dark in the mornings, but honestly, that might be a blessing if you’re trying to sleep off a night in Rhodes Town. For the price point and that 8.6 rating, Villa Sunset delivers exactly what you want from a Greek island stay – comfort, character, and those moments where you catch yourself thinking “I could actually live here.”

  The house is as shown in the picture. I have booked this home twice and both experiences were excellent. Spacious, cleaned and a calm relaxing area. This home is for people who like to enjoy nature while being close to the airport and to some of the most beautiful views and natural sites of this beautiful island. The owner of the property is always happy to help in case you need assistance, he welcome us with a lovely bottle of local wine, water in the fridge and fruits. We will definitely be back one day our kids loved the garden and the huge pool.

  This place was amazing! And I do mean it!
  It was rather distant from the main road but with some other villas around, nevertheless this one was closes to the shore so had a sea view no see access tho). Pool pics might be misleading – pool is bigger that it may appear and def deeper than expected. There are big bedrooms with king size beds in each, big wardrobes, and two bathrooms (one with the tub up, one with the shower down). The living room is huge – many couches, coffee tables and dining table. there is a place to have a bbq as well so def a plus! Huge huge recommendation for a longer stay for a bigger group (there will be place for everyone).
  
  What could be improved: Watch out for ants! Also kitchen appliances seem to have their prime time over but you can live with this 🙂

  Na plus napewno wielkość domu, duże sypialnie, duży salon. Na zewnątrz olbrzymi teren ogrodu i basen (był czyszczony podczas naszego 10 dniowego pobytu 2 razy)
  
  What could be improved: Minus lokalizacja do sklepu najbliższego jest 5km, ciężko żeby złapać taksówkę pod willę. Sam obiekt jest ładny ale ma bardzo dużo niedoróbek, kuchnia bardzo słabo wyposażona (1 przypalona patelnia, 2 garnki, tępy nóż) napewno nie przygotowana na 8 gości a co dopiero na 10 osób. W dodatku odpadają fronty od szuflad (to akurat było już zepsute jak przyjechaliśmy). Prysznic na dole nie ma szyby co gwarantuje zalanie łazienki podczas kąpieli, wypadają klamki z drzwi. Jak przyjechaliśmy połowa leżaków nie miała śrub lub była połamana. Właściciel na początku wydawał się do dogadania jednak szybko zmieniał zdanie i nie dotrzymywał słowa np. O późniejsze wymeldowanie, na które zgodził się 2 dni przed naszym wyjazdem, a w dniu wyjazdu zadzwonił że za 3 godziny musimy opuścić obiekt.

  Magnifique villa, dans un endroit calme, vue magnifique, piscine superbe et profonde.
  
  What could be improved: Il serait vraiment temps de remplacer cette vieille cuisine… c’était infesté de fourmis, nous avions acheté des biscuits, du pain, nous avons dû tout jeter malheureusement . Impossible de cuisiner dans cette cuisine donc. Un traitement contre les insectes ne serait pas un luxe
