Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, but Villa Solmar in Lachania honestly surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first pull up (parking’s actually easy, which is a relief after dealing with some of the coastal hotels), it doesn’t scream “luxury resort” at you. Instead, it’s got this understated elegance that feels more like staying at a really well-appointed friend’s place. The thing about Lachania is that most tourists never make it down here – they stick to Lindos or Rhodes Town – but that’s exactly what makes Villa Solmar special. You’re getting that authentic Greek village experience without sacrificing comfort.

The rooms are what really won me over, though. I mean, you walk in and everything just feels… right. The beds are actually comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss that can be in Mediterranean hotels), and there’s this attention to detail that you don’t always see. Little things like proper bedside lighting for reading, outlets where you actually need them, and – this might sound weird – but the shower pressure is fantastic. The balconies look out over olive groves and traditional stone houses, not a sea of hotel umbrellas, which honestly feels like a luxury these days. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. During the day you’ll hear the occasional motorbike puttering through the village or someone’s goats (yeah, actual goats), but evenings are just peaceful in a way that’s hard to find on this island anymore.

The staff here actually know your name by day two, which tells you something about the scale of the place – it’s intimate without feeling cramped. They’ll point you toward the good tavernas in the village (there’s this place called Platanos that locals go to, not just tourists), and they’re genuinely helpful about getting around the southern part of the island. Speaking of which, you’re perfectly positioned for exploring places like Prasonisi – the windsurfing spot at the island’s tip – or those incredible beaches along the southern coast that don’t show up in guidebooks. The location means you’ll need a car, but honestly, that’s a good thing because it forces you to discover parts of Rhodes that most visitors miss entirely. Check-in was smooth, none of that waiting around with your luggage while they sort things out, and they actually seemed excited to have us there. It’s the kind of place where you end up extending your stay if you can – I know we seriously considered it.

  Just 70 meters from the sea ! And the sunset after 20:00
  The view from the yard was awesome .
  I also enjoy the living room with the big tv and the rooms ❤️ were big and comfortable
  You don’t need anything to worry about , this house has everything you need for . Even they predict every small detail . Can’t wait to come back ❤️❤️

  Being the very first guest I fell I was lucky enough. I met the host and he told be that it is the first time he rents the villa. The furnitures were in mint condition and the villa was clean. Also all electronic devices were brand new. I really enjoyed the huge tv.
  
  However the main advantages of the villa are the location and the external amenities.
  
  First and foremost you hear nothing but the wind and the sound of the sea. The beach is accessible by feet in just one minute. You can also go to the famous beach bar called Mojito on feet. In the morning if you don’t close the shutters you will be probably awaken from the sun rising from the sea which I found exquisite. Moreover, by car you can visit -among other- Prasonisi beach (about 20 minutes) and Lindos (about 30 minutes). The villa is approximately 1 hour from the airport.
  
  Villa Solmar offers two huge pergolas. You can relax on the sunbeds under the sun or under the shade. I really enjoyed eating while seating on the external table.
  
  The villa offers fully equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and living room. Check in was easy with the use of a smart lock and a keypad. There was plenty of room to park my car.

  Il concept di questa villa è fenomenale incluso la posizione rispetto alle altre abitazioni vicine, la vista dell'alba direttamente dal letto è sicuramente un plus così come la scelta di non avere la classica piscina da bagnomaria tipica delle abitazioni della zona così che non è stato tolto spazio allo spazio vitale esterno con il patio che è praticamente una stanza aggiunta dove fare colazione, l'aperitivo o prendere il sole. Per il bagno il mare è splendido ovunque nei dintorni.
  Le indicazioni per il luogo di Michail erano da guida turistica.
  
  What could be improved: Da migliorare l'attaccatura della keybox alla porta che ci ha fatto un po' tremare.

  Villa Solmar n. 1! La casa è molto bella e nuova. Ha un portico fresco e confortevole che abbiamo usato spessissimo. L’abbiamo trovata pulitissima. Una cosa per noi splendida è stata la spiaggia praticamente sotto casa. A due minuti a piedi, con accesso riservato.
