I mean, when you’re driving through Vlicha (which honestly feels like stepping into a postcard), you almost miss the entrance because it’s tucked away from the main road noise. But that’s actually perfect because once you’re inside, it’s like the rest of the world just… disappears.

The heated pool situation is no joke – and I’m saying this as someone who’s been disappointed by lukewarm hotel pools more times than I care to count. Even in the shoulder season when the Aegean can be pretty brisk, you’re floating around in perfectly warm water while looking out at views that make your Instagram followers genuinely jealous. The jacuzzi sits right next to it, and honestly, there’s something magical about soaking there around sunset with a glass of local wine. You can actually see Lindos village from there, perched on that dramatic hill with the ancient acropolis – it’s like having a front-row seat to history. What really gets me is how the owner (lovely Greek family, by the way) has managed to keep things intimate without skimping on the details. The rooms have this authentic Mediterranean feel – none of that sterile hotel chain vibe – with local stone work and terraces that actually make you want to wake up early just to have coffee outside. And speaking of coffee, they know their way around a proper Greek coffee, which is saying something.

The location is sort of genius when you think about it. You’re close enough to Lindos that you can walk to the main village in about fifteen minutes (though I’d recommend the short drive if you’re planning to stay out late – those cobblestone streets can be tricky in the dark), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds that descend on the main square during peak season. Vlicha Beach is literally a five-minute stroll, and it’s one of those protected bays where the water stays calm even when it’s windy elsewhere on the island. Plus, there’s this little taverna down by the water – Taverna Vlicha – that serves the best grilled octopus I’ve had outside of a Greek grandmother’s kitchen. The family running Villa Rocabella will point you toward all these local spots that you’d never find in a guidebook, which honestly makes all the difference. You know what really sealed the deal for me though? The complete lack of pretension. No one’s trying to impress you with fancy lobbies or over-the-top service – it’s just genuinely warm hospitality and a beautiful space that lets Rhodes do what it does best. After a few days there, you start to feel less like a tourist and more like you’ve found your temporary Greek home.

  Beliggenheden var helt perfekt – stille og rolig bugt med fantastisk udsigt. Huset var dejligt, perfekt til 6 voksne og fantastisk service af både rengøring af lejlighed og pool (poolen blev renset hveranden dag) og værten. Området var heller ikke overrendt af turister og så var der verdens bedste strandbar lige i nærheden. Kæmpe anbefaling herfra!
