Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Rhodes, but Villa Melodia genuinely surprised me – and I mean that in the best way. It’s tucked up in Navarone Bay, which honestly feels like Lindos’s quieter, more sophisticated cousin. You’re still close enough to walk down to the main Lindos action (maybe 15 minutes if you don’t mind the hill), but you’re completely removed from the tour bus chaos that can make the village center feel like a theme park during peak season.

The villa itself is… well, it’s exactly what you’d hope a Greek island rental would be, but actually delivered properly. Four bedrooms that aren’t cramped afterthoughts, and that private pool – honestly, this is where you’ll spend most of your time. The water’s kept perfectly clean (someone clearly knows what they’re doing with maintenance), and the pool area gets sun pretty much all day, which you can’t say for every villa in these hillside locations. What really got me though was the attention to small stuff. The outdoor shower actually has decent water pressure, the kitchen has sharp knives and enough plates for a proper dinner party, and – this might sound weird – but the WiFi actually works throughout the property, even by the pool. You know how rare that is in Greek villas?

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to feel like you’re experiencing authentic Rhodes without sacrificing comfort. Navarone Bay has this lovely, lived-in feel – you’ll see local families at the little taverna down the road (try the grilled octopus, seriously), and the beach here is way less crowded than Lindos Beach proper. The water’s that ridiculous Aegean blue-green that looks fake in photos but hits you right in the chest when you see it in person. Parking’s easy, which honestly is half the battle in this part of the island, and you’re close enough to both Lindos village and Pefkos that you can explore without feeling stuck in one spot. I will say the road up can be a bit tricky at night – it’s well-maintained but narrow, so maybe don’t plan on late-night drives until you’ve done it a few times. The whole setup just works though. You wake up to that view over the bay, have your coffee on the terrace without fighting crowds for a decent café table, and you can decide whether you want to be social (head to Lindos) or antisocial (stay put by your private pool) without any major production. That 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place on the island, but everything it does, it does really well.

  Very clean and excellent staff. Organised late checkout with ease.
  
  What could be improved: We weren’t made aware that the 4th bedroom was in a separate annexe and it was not ideal travelling with 4 children.

  A superb villa with amazing views and facilities – every whim catered for . Even the personal taxi service ( chargeable but swift) to the town was a treat and made life easy in the evenings . Would highly recommend the high standard if everything. A brilliant week
