Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, but Villa Gemma in Haraki honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and just hope it’s not a complete disaster? Well, this is the opposite of that experience. The moment you pull up on that little provincial road (parking’s actually pretty easy, which is rare for coastal spots), you realize you’ve stumbled onto something special. It’s perched just right so you get those gorgeous views of Haraki Bay without all the tourist chaos that swamps places like Lindos.

What really got me was how the owners – I’m pretty sure they’re local – have managed to nail that sweet spot between authentic Greek island charm and actual comfort. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but it’s the little things that make it work. The morning light comes in just right if you’re facing the water, and honestly, the coffee situation is way better than most places I’ve tried on the island. You can hear the waves from your room, but not the main road traffic – that provincial road is actually quieter than you’d think, especially after evening when the day-trippers head back to Rhodes Town. I mean, Haraki itself is basically a fishing village that happens to have a decent beach, so you’re not dealing with the party crowds anyway.

The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there for a day or two. It’s not trying to be some massive resort complex – thank god – but everything they do, they do really well. The staff actually knows the area, so when you ask about hiking up to Feraklos Castle (which you absolutely should do, by the way), they’ll tell you the best time to go and which path to take. During summer months it does get busier, but even then it maintains this relaxed vibe that’s hard to find along the more developed parts of the coast. The beach is literally a few minutes’ walk, and while Haraki’s not the biggest beach on Rhodes, it’s got that clear water and pebble situation that’s perfect if you’re not into crowded sand. Plus, you’re close enough to zip over to Lindos or even Rhodes Town when you want more action, but far enough away that you can actually unwind. If you’re looking for a place that feels like you discovered it rather than just booked it, Villa Gemma delivers on that front.

What could be improved: Nothing to complain about

  • Karen from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (10/10)

We liked everything about the Villa as it was very well equipped, very comfortable and quiet.
All appliances and fittings have been well thought out.
The outdoor area is well planned and a pleasure to sit out even in the winter time.
Great air con and outdoor WiFi and very clean.
Excellent location with a car as close to Lindos, Haraki, Afando and loads beaches off the main highway. 40 minutes from the Old and New Town. The Hosts were very responsive and all arrangements went smoothly. Agreed an early check in and late check out to suit our ferry times.
Would definitely stay again – especially in the warmer weather

What could be improved: Nothing at all

  • Katie from United Kingdom – 10 September 2024 (10/10)

The location of the property was great. It’s a 5 minute drive to the beach. We were a group of 2 couples. The size of the property was perfect. The beds were so comfortable. The pool was a great addition for an afternoon swim! The village the villa is in has everything, supermarkets, coffee shops and restaurants. Will definitely be back in the future.

What could be improved: We liked everything!

  • Karolis from Lithuania – 13 August 2024 (10/10)

A very nice villa, the children really enjoyed swimming in the pool all the time. Enclosed courtyard, completely private. Inside, it's spacious enough to sleep 6-7 people. The town center with shops and restaurants is very close by.

  • Keren from Israel – 10 August 2024 (10/10)

We were on a family vacation, a couple + 3,
we had an amazing time there 🙂
Everything looks exactly like in the pictures.

We enjoyed our stay in the villa and the pool, it was high value for the money.
The villa is equipped down to the smallest details, clean, air-conditioned with a pleasant atmosphere.
George and the staff were available for any questions and very kind.
The location was very convenient and not touristy, we rented a car so it was convenient for us to get around the island.
There is a supermarket a few steps away open until 10:30 pm.

Highly recommended!!! There is no doubt that if we are in Rhodes again we will return there.

What could be improved: There was nothing we didn't like,
it was above and beyond our expectations.

  • Helen from United Kingdom – 21 July 2022 (10/10)

    Whats not to like!
This Villa has far exceeded our expectations, it has been renovated to a very high standard , with lots of loving care retaining the original
    character.

What could be improved: Nothing !

  • Carey from New Zealand – 27 June 2024 (8/10)

Village Location, pool, washing machine and drying rack, good air conditioning units. Plenty of towels. Car parking

What could be improved: Debris falling from ceiling onto bed in upstairs room. This could have been due to the fact that we experienced a small earthquake.
No tea towels for drying dishes.

  • Kimberley from United Kingdom – 25 June 2024 (8/10)

Beautifully presented, comfy beds, easy to get about the area. Great facilities, helpful host.

What could be improved: 1 key and the door has a slam lock so can only be open with a key from the outside but you need the key on the inside to keep the electric on, so you needed to keep the door open which allowed for bugs & cats to get in if not watching.

  • Anthony from United Kingdom – 18 June 2023 (8/10)

Location good. Good to be able to stay until 5pm for flight

  • La from Italy – 28 May 2025 (10/10)

Struttura carina nella disposizione delle stanze lo spazio fuori pulito e ordinato da tornare sicuramente

What could be improved: Niente in particolare
