Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels in Rhodes, but Villa Fantasea genuinely surprised me – and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a place in Plimmiri since most people don’t even know where that is. It’s way down on the southern tip of the island, about 45 minutes from Rhodes town if you’re driving (which you should, because public transport down there is basically non-existent). The thing is, that isolation is actually what makes it special. You know how most Rhodes hotels are either in the packed old town or along those crazy busy resort strips? Well, this place sits right on this gorgeous stretch of coast where you can actually hear the waves instead of drunk British tourists at 2 AM.

The hotel itself feels more like a really nice beach house that someone decided to share – it’s got this relaxed, almost family-run vibe even though it’s clearly well-managed. The rooms are solid (I mean, it’s a proper 4-star, not some budget place), but what really got me was stepping out onto the terrace in the morning. You’re literally looking at this endless blue that stretches all the way to the horizon, and if you squint a bit, you can actually make out the mountains of Crete on clear days. The staff seemed to genuinely care about the place too – not just going through the motions like at some of the bigger chain hotels. They’ll tell you about the little taverna about ten minutes walk along the coast (Maria’s place, I think?) where the fish is so fresh it was probably swimming that morning.

Here’s the thing though – Plimmiri isn’t for everyone. If you want to stumble out of your hotel and into shops and bars and all that tourist infrastructure, you’ll be disappointed. But if you’re the type who appreciates having a beautiful beach practically to yourself, where the biggest decision of the day is whether to swim before or after your afternoon coffee, then you’ll get why this place has such crazy good ratings. The beach right in front is this mix of sand and smooth pebbles, and the water stays shallow for quite a way out – perfect if you’re traveling with kids or just want to float around with a book. Parking’s easy (which, trust me, is not a given in Greece), and they’ve got this little pool area that’s actually pleasant to hang around, not just functional. I’d definitely go back, probably in late spring or early fall when it’s warm but not blazing hot and you’ve got the whole southern coast feeling even more secluded than usual.

  A nice little (with easily enough room for 5 or 6 people) house in a very quiet and natural area with a big veranda. The beach (mostly sandy, pebbles here and there) is only a very short walk, less than a minute, away. Been there in December/January, so I can't say anything about sun bathing or swimming, but I enjoyed walks along the shore. By car, I'd say it is needed, it is easy and not far to go to Lindos or Prasonisi beach, even Rhodos city is no problem to visit. No place for party people, don't think there's much of a night life in summer either. Instead you can watch deer coming almost beside the house.

  the house had all the amenities and was fully equipped, located very close to the beach with sunbeds available, quiet and peaceful area, the host of the property was very friendly and cordial

  The house is very nice with 5 beds and everything you need for a long stay, the small garden is gorgeous with an outdoor shower useful for washing off the sand. There isn't much around there and that's what fascinated me, I suggest bringing a DIY breakfast, there is only an excellent fish restaurant 1 km away. In the evening it is windy so there is a draft in the house and there is no need for the air conditioner. The beach front is admirable, there is not a living soul. A tip: in front of the house the bottom is rocky and there are 4 deckchairs and an umbrella, a little further to the right it is pebbly, 200 meters to the right it is sandy, up to you!

  We had amazing time in this house. Very quit place. There was everything what needed. We really liked everything. If we will be in Rhodes again definetly we will come back.

  The host was waiting for us at the accommodation and explained everything to us. The equipment of the house is simple, but completely sufficient. The surroundings of the house are very quiet, nobody disturbs you. The sand beach in front of the house is basically just for you. Parking is no problem. Several restaurants and public beaches nearby. 20 min by car to Prasonisi beach.
  
  What could be improved: Better be prepared for ants and flies, but nothing terrible. 🙂

  If you are finding peaceful place for holiday, this is would be good choose.
  
  What could be improved: Restaurants and shops are further away (20 minutes by car), but thanks to this you have the sea and the beach to yourself. So it is up to you what is your priority.

  Nice spacious villa, secluded location, 50m or so from nice not frequented beach. If you like to be a bit alone, this one is superb. Nicelly equipped, everything works, and the host is friendly. Would come again.

  Vyborna poloha, kludne miesto, tiche, prazdna plaz na dosah, domcek.je postaveny tak, ze sme si vedeli urobit prievan a nebolo nutne ani klimu zapinat. Od obeda sa dalo sediet na terase v tieni, kde bolo naopak stale bezvetrie. Vonkajsia sprcha a hadica boli perfektne. Umyvacka riadu, kavovar a elektricky gril sme vyuzili naplno,. Villa Fantasea je balzam na dusu.
