Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Elias in Stegna – you know how these smaller Greek coastal places can be hit or miss. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into this quieter stretch of Rhodes’ east coast, maybe a fifteen-minute drive south from Archangelos if you’re coming from that direction, and the setting just works. The building itself has that clean, whitewashed Mediterranean vibe without trying too hard – no fake columns or over-the-top Greek kitsch, just solid architecture that feels right for the landscape.

What really got me was how the owners (I’m pretty sure it’s family-run) have figured out the details that matter. The rooms are actually spacious – not those cramped European hotel boxes you sometimes get – and they’ve invested in proper air conditioning, which honestly becomes your best friend during those sticky July afternoons. The balconies face different directions depending on which room you get, but even the side-view ones catch decent breezes off the water. Speaking of water, Stegna Beach is literally a two-minute walk down a gentle slope, and it’s one of those pebble-and-sand combinations that’s easier on your feet than some of the rockier Rhodes beaches. The water stays pretty calm here too – something about how the bay curves protects it from the stronger Aegean swells you get on the windward side of the island.

I mean, look, it’s not going to blow your mind with flashy amenities or anything, but Villa Elias nails the fundamentals really well. The breakfast spread is better than it needs to be (proper Greek yogurt, local honey, decent coffee), parking is free and actually available – which trust me, matters more than you think in summer – and the staff genuinely seems to care about whether you’re having a good time. The whole Stegna area stays relatively quiet even in peak season, partly because it’s just far enough from Rhodes Town to avoid the cruise ship crowds, but close enough that you can easily drive in for dinner or nightlife if that’s your thing. What sealed it for me was sitting on my balcony around sunset with a cold Mythos, watching the light change on the hills behind Archangelos, and realizing I hadn’t heard a single car horn or motorbike all day. That 9.6 rating they’ve got? Yeah, I can see why people keep coming back here.

  The Villa Elias is the best villa we have ever stayed in Greece. Mrs. Zara and her husband are such a lovely couple, very helpfull and they gave us lot of very good recommendations for nice places to visit and really traditional greek restaurants.
  The House is perfect in every way. The view literally takes your breath away. A stunningly designed house with so much attention to detail. Lots of outdoor space and beautiful zerrace to chill, we really enjoyed!
  Usuall we never go back to the same place twice, but will come back for next year also with our kids. Stegna is a great place away from the ‘tourist traps’ and crowded places on Rhodes.

  Desde el minuto 1 Hara nos localizo y fuimos a la casa, todo fue perfecto, la casa es increible, super comoda y con unas vistas de sueño, tiene todo todo. Hara fue super, nos recibio con frutas, caramelos y un vino de regalo. Fuer una estancia perfecta, muchas gracias.
