So I stumbled upon Villa Dione completely by accident – well, not really by accident, but you know how it is when you’re scrolling through endless hotel options and one just catches your eye. This place sits right on that winding road between Lardos and Lindos, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better if you’re trying to avoid the absolute chaos of Lindos town but still want to be close enough to walk down for sunset photos at the Acropolis. Pefkos has this laid-back vibe that’s hard to find along the Rhodes coast these days, especially in summer when everywhere else feels like a tourist conveyor belt.

What really got me about Villa Dione was how it manages to feel both polished and unpretentious at the same time. The owners clearly put thought into the details – I mean, you can tell when someone actually cares about their property versus just trying to pack in as many rooms as possible. The rooms have this airy, whitewashed thing going on that doesn’t feel like a Greek island cliché, more like someone’s thoughtful take on Mediterranean living. And the balconies, well, they’re actually big enough to sit on with your morning coffee without feeling like you’re about to tumble into the garden below. Speaking of which, there’s this incredible smell of jasmine and herbs that drifts up in the evenings – probably from their garden, though it could be from the hillside behind the property.

Here’s what you need to know if you’re considering staying here: parking is actually sorted (miracle in this part of Rhodes), the road noise is minimal despite being on the main route, and they seem to have figured out the whole check-in thing without making it feel like a corporate hotel experience. The beach at Pefkos is literally a five-minute walk down the hill, and it’s one of those rare sandy stretches where you can actually find a spot even in August if you’re not too picky. Plus, if you get restless, you can catch the local bus to Lindos village – though honestly, I’d recommend walking it in the early morning or late afternoon when the light hits those white houses just right and the cruise ship crowds haven’t descended yet. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, but everything works the way it should, and there’s something refreshing about a place that delivers exactly what it promises without the usual Mediterranean hotel drama.

  Very high quality villa with large terrace and pool. Excellent views over Pefkos. The villa has three bedrooms which whilst not large were comfortable. We were a group of 5 and it was ideal for us. Manos made sure we had everything we needed. Very easy access to the local restaurants and bars and a short drive to Lindos. We stayed here for a week and then moved to Villa Allegra next door but one and with the same owner when some of our group went home and it was such an easy move two doors away.

  The property's outdoor spaces were cozy, really clean, you could grill food under the perkola. The location at the top guaranteed one's own peace, even though in the evening you could faintly hear music and the sounds of the city from the shopping street below. The infinity pool was amazing and had a direct view of the sea. It's good to have a car to get to restaurants and the beach further away, e.g. Largos beach, where you can do water sports (e.g. we went on a jet ski). A short 300m walk away is the good market Apostolos and the restaurant Tsambikos upstairs if you don't want to leave. The property itself and the area in the hills was stunning.

  Scenery is beautiful.
  Location is very good, easy access from the main road and still quiet. And the villa is clean and magnificent.
  Nearby village offers everything needed and Lindos is near.
  Check in was easy and simple and communication was very good also.
  
  What could be improved: Roomy bedrooms could have some kind of underlay for luggage.

  We loved the property for its amazing views and great location. Being able to wake up to a view of the ocean was exactly what we were looking for. And it was easy to get to Pefki town for the restaurants and grocery needs. The property's outdoor space with pool, loungers, couch seating, and dining table was great.
  
  What could be improved: We found a number of small issues over the course of our stay. None of them alone was a big deal, but when they started to add up, we brought it up to the owner, and the response we received was very disappointing.
  
  The property felt a bit unmaintained and the cleaning was not very comprehensive. Our bedroom door couldn't be shut because the door handle latch was broken/missing. The cleaning crew also didn't clean the toilet or faucets very well. We stayed for 1 week and they didn't refill the bath soap/shampoo. Upon informing the owner, cleaning crew was sent in again and took care of the cleaning better.
  
  We also found the hot water to be a bit of a challenge. Most of the time it was fine, but in the mornings, we couldn't get hot water for a very long time.
  
  The kitchen had enough utensils, cups, cookware, etc. However, guests should be aware that there are no paper towels, no salt/pepper/oil/etc., no aluminum foil, no laundry detergent, etc. We also had to request dishwasher tabs, which were brought to us the next day. From our experience at various other properties, things like paper towels, dishwasher tabs, and laundry detergent (if there's a laundry machine) are usually included.
  
  After a couple days and noticing these things, we messaged the owner about them merely to inform him, as he might otherwise never know. Unfortunately, his response was antagonistic and blaming us for having too high expectations.
  
  Again, none of these things were deal breakers, and I'm trying to be very fair in sharing these points. We just felt these tips might be useful to other renters to prepare for.

  Upeat näkymät, iso ulkoterassi, iso uima-allas, hyvä pohjaratkaisu, jokaiselle huoneelle oma kylpyhuone, auton paikoitus suoraan talon edessä, hiiligrilli terassilla, pyykinpesukone erillisessä huoneessa sekä astianpesukone keittiössä. Allas ei ole lämmitetty mutta vesi oli jo toukokuussa sopivan lämmintä ja lämpeni lisää aina iltapäivää kohden auringon paistaessa. Uimme altaassa päivittäin ja vettä käytiin huoltamassa noin parin – kolmen päivän välein.
  
  What could be improved: Naulakoita ja laskutasoja voisi olla enemmän sekä kylpyhuoneissa että makuuhuoneissa. Ulkoterassin katoksen puuosista valkoinen maali hilseilee ja aiheuttaa jonkun verran sotkua terassin lattialle, ulkopöydälle ja sohvalle. Tosin ulkotiloissa on tuulen mukana tullutta hiekkaa ja muuta roskaa väkisinkin joten ei tuo hilseily viihtyvyyttä vähentänyt.
