Hotel Description

You know what hit me first about Villa Di Mare? The way the morning light bounces off those white walls and straight into the Aegean – it’s honestly one of those views that makes you forget you’re checking your phone every five minutes back home. This place sits right on Irakleidon Avenue in Ixia, which puts you maybe ten minutes from Rhodes town but far enough out that you’re not hearing scooters revving at 2 AM.

The suites themselves are actually spacious, and I mean properly spacious – not that cramped European hotel room thing where you’re doing yoga moves to get around the bed. Each one’s got this clean, almost minimalist vibe but with enough local touches that you remember you’re in Greece (the stone work in the bathrooms is particularly nice). The sea-facing rooms are obviously the ones you want, though honestly, even the garden view ones are pretty solid since the whole property is landscaped really thoughtfully. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays – the building’s set back just enough from the main road, and the Greek family running it seems to know exactly how to keep things peaceful without being stuffy about it.

Here’s the thing about the location that most people don’t realize until they get there – Ixia beach is literally across the street, but it’s also where the windsurfers hang out, so mornings are calm and perfect for swimming, then by afternoon you’ve got this whole scene of colorful sails dancing around. The hotel staff will actually tell you the best times to hit the water, which is the kind of local insight you don’t get at the big chain places. There’s a decent taverna about three doors down (I can’t remember the name, but it’s got blue shutters and makes incredible grilled octopus), and if you want to head into Rhodes proper, the bus stop is right there – though honestly, walking along the coast in the evening is half the experience. The only minor thing I’d mention is that parking can get a bit tight during peak season, but they’ve got a guy who somehow makes it work, and check-in was smooth even when we showed up earlier than expected. It’s one of those places where you can tell the difference between a hotel that just happens to be by the sea and one that actually gets what people come to the Greek islands for.

  The staff were amazing, so friendly, kind and informative about everything including food and wine. We were offered a lot of free surprises during our stay, bottles of bubbles, drinks and snacks by the pool which made the experience even more enjoyable, especially as we were on our honeymoon. The pool area, beach and sunset were amazing. And the food both by the pool and in the restaurant was phenomenal, we couldn’t understand how the restaurant wasn’t fully booked out, it was 10/10 high end food. Our room was lovely as well. Transportation was great too.

  A well kept, nice pool, great unlimited breakfast, great staff, pretty good restaurant (more like a fine dining one, with prices to match) , but there are simpler and cheaper restorants just across the street if that's your choice). Fairly close to the airport and to the Rhodes town. I had a room with a pool.. It also had a stove, sink, refrigerator. Air-conditioning worked fine and it was quiet.
  
  What could be improved: Beach not great if you care about it.. I didn't.

  What could be improved: The only thing we would say is that there wasn’t a coffee machine in the room, but the staff were very accommodating and let us go for a coffee half an hour before breakfast

  We only stayed 1 night due to flight cancellation, would have loved to stay there instead of the suppose to be 5 star hotel previously stayed. Very welcoming receptionist and other staff all knowledge us while wondering around. Beachside with lovely restaurant and bar. Very comfortable but very short stay, will be returning to accommodation when/if you return to Rhodes.

  Amazing view from our suite !! Seafront and sunsets were breathtaking. The staff was very kindly and did their best All The Time. The breakfast was brilliant. We had our own private pool.
  Location was great, only 10 minutes to old town. There was own driver in hotel.

  We loved the pool, cocktails and dinner at the hotel. All amazing, as was the room. Staff couldn’t be more helpful and the views out to the ocean were amazing.
  
  What could be improved: It’s surrounded by a lot of British bars, which obviously the hotel can’t help but it takes away a bit of the Greek authenticity. Not many nice restaurants within walking distance.

  The property was great and the staff was lovely. I would keep a day to stay by the property pool. It was stunning.
  
  It was also 15 mins from Rhodes old town. The hotel either gave us their driver or would call us a taxi which was around 13 euros

  Superior club suite with private pool.
  This was a sun trap, fully shielded by the wind. The pools were all freezing but refreshing.
  Comfy soft bed, and comfortable firm double sofa bed. Very clean. Great friendly staff, they couldn’t have helped more.
  Great location, roughly 8 shops, bars and restaurants opposite the hotel, and a 10 min drive from old town. The beach isn’t really for swimming as it’s hard to get into the sea over the large rocks. But plenty of beaches a short distance away. Gorgeous view of sunset every night from beach bar. If you have breakfast included it’s all you can eat from the menu.
  
  What could be improved: Freezing cold pools. Didn’t really enjoy the breakfast menu. Otherwise amazing stay, would stay again in a heartbeat.
