You know what caught me off guard about Villa Deep Blue? It’s actually tucked away in Lachania village, which honestly feels like you’ve stumbled onto a film set for “what a Greek village should look like.” I mean, most people barrel straight to Lindos or stick around Rhodes Town, but this little corner of the south is where locals still nod hello when you walk past their morning coffee ritual.

The hotel itself sits on this quiet stretch where you can actually hear the waves at night – and I’m talking real waves, not just the distant hum you get at those big resort strips up north. The rooms have this understated elegance thing going on, sort of like someone’s stylish aunt decorated them without trying too hard. What I really appreciated was the terrace situation – you get these unobstructed sea views without feeling like you’re stacked on top of other tourists. The whole place has maybe 20-something rooms, so it never feels like you’re navigating a cruise ship lobby. Check-in was refreshingly normal too, just genuine people who actually knew the area well enough to suggest that little taverna down the hill (Platanos, if you’re taking notes – their lamb is ridiculous).

Here’s the thing about Lachania that guidebooks don’t really capture: it’s perfectly positioned for day trips without being stuck in the middle of nowhere. You’re maybe 20 minutes from Prasonisi where the windsurfers go nuts, and about the same to some of those hidden coves that Instagram hasn’t completely ruined yet. The village itself has this one main square with a couple of tavernas and a small market – not exactly nightlife central, but honestly perfect if you want to decompress without being completely isolated. Parking is never an issue, which sounds boring but you’ll thank me when you’re not circling blocks in Lindos. The hotel staff genuinely knows their stuff about the southern part of the island – they pointed me toward this monastery trail that I never would’ve found otherwise, and warned me about which beaches get completely packed with the day-trip boats from Rhodes Town. The pool area gets busy around mid-afternoon when people come back from beach hopping, but mornings are pretty serene. Only minor thing I’d mention is that you’ll want a rental car – walking to anything beyond the village center isn’t really practical, and the bus connections down here are sort of… optimistic in their scheduling.

  Serviceminded host. The garden and the pool is really nice. Quiet. Breakfast on the poarch. Nice beds.

  Villa, pool and view. We very much appreciated the excellent service of the villa representative as you are on your own in a delightful and quiet area.
  
  What could be improved: Not suitable for people without a car.
  There is a villa in front which isn't shown in the picture, but it doesn't spoil the view. However, it would give you a better idea as to the location of the sea. The beach sun loungers near the villa are privately owned. You need to walk much further along a pebble beach to get to a 'small beach resort'. The other route to it (and also to a taverna) is via the road, no path.

  Das Haus war von außen Toll, auch der Garten und der Pool sauber. super. Die Vermittlerin war super freundlich und nett, hat uns viele Attraktionen genannt und wo man super Essen kann.Wir durften die frischen Feigen und Trauben vom Baum essen, waren lecker und super süß.

  What could be improved: Im Haus war viel verwohnt, schlechte Küchenutensilien (viel kaputt) nicht mehr benutzbar. Keine Toilettenbürste, Tür Zarge viel ab, kein Abwaschlappen und Spülmittel (was eigentlich zum Standart gehört) zwei Schlafmatratzen waren total durchgelegen und die Feder schauten raus. Auf Rhodos war es ganz schön dreckig, schlechte Parkmöglichkeite.n und schlechte Straßen.

  What could be improved: WiFi im unteren Stockwerk quasi nicht nutzbar.
  Klimaanlage in einem Schlafzimmer war kaputt.
  Die Sonnenliegen waren teilweise schon ziemlich ramponiert (Fehlende Räder, Einrastmechanismus defekt).
  Der Weg zum Strand ist nichtmehr so kurz wie auf der Webseite angegeben, da die frühere Beachbar jetzt eine Villa ist und man dadurch dort nichtmehr durch kann.
  Die Magnetschlüssel zum freischalten des Stromes sind einfach nur extrem nervig.
  
  Was bei einer Villa dieser Preisklasse meiner Meinung nach fehlt: Eine Spülmaschine und Sonnenschirme.
  Und angesichts der Tatsache dass kein Klopapier in die Toilette soll: Ein Bidet oder ähnliches.

  Die Lage des Hauses ist wirklich super mit exzellenter Aussicht, schönem Garten und Pool. Wir hatten Glück, dass gerade die Weintrauben, Feigen, Granatäpfel und Kaktusfeigen reif waren und wir diese genießen durften. Die Betreuung durch den Gastgeber, bzw. seiner Beauftragten war sehr gut.
  
  What could be improved: Der Kühlschrank in der unteren Wohnung kühlte nicht ausreichend, das Gefrierteil hingegen arbeitete übermäßig. Die Dusche im Garten (Pool) funktionierte nicht. Die Matratzen des Doppelbettes der oberen Wohnung könnten unserer Meinung nach mal ausgetauscht werden.

  De geweldige ligging met zicht op zee. En ver genoeg van de hoofdbaan. Maar geen druk verkeer.
  
  What could be improved: De taverne-bar die op foto's van de villa niet zichtbaar is stoort niet echt er is geen inkijk op de woning. Wel was er 1 avond een trouwfeest die tot 3:30 duurde. Gelukkig de enige avond voor de rest geen hinder. Je hoort af en toe wel de muziek vanuit de bar maar niet storend omdat windrichting goed zat.
