Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Villa Crypty in Soroni – you know how it is with these smaller Greek towns, sometimes you’re rolling the dice. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on the Rhodes-Kamirou road, which means you’re about 20 minutes from the main tourist chaos of Rhodes town, but still close enough that you’re not completely stranded if you want to hit up the medieval city or catch a flight.

What really got me was how the owners clearly put thought into the little things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The parking situation is sorted (thank god, because navigating those narrow Greek streets with a rental car is… well, you know), and the whole place has this relaxed vibe that feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice vacation house than some corporate hotel chain. The rooms are genuinely comfortable – I mean, the beds are actually good, not just “acceptable for three nights” good. And the AC works properly, which honestly should be a given but you’d be surprised how many places in Greece still haven’t figured that out. The view from most rooms looks out over the countryside toward the coast, and in the evenings you can actually hear the waves if the wind’s right.

Soroni itself is one of those places that most tourists completely skip, which is exactly why I’d recommend staying here. You’re close enough to all the big attractions – the Butterfly Valley is literally down the road, and you can hit the west coast beaches without dealing with the crowds from Rhodes town. But you also get to experience a bit of actual Greek life instead of just the tourist version. There’s a proper taverna in the village where locals actually eat (you’ll know it’s the right one because there’s no English menu), and the whole area feels authentic in a way that’s getting harder to find on Rhodes. The staff at Villa Crypty seem to genuinely know the area too – they pointed me toward this little beach near Kamiros that I never would have found otherwise, completely empty except for a few fishing boats.

I’ll be honest, it’s not the fanciest place you’ll ever stay, but that 9.4 rating makes sense once you’re there. Everything just… works. The WiFi is solid, the breakfast is fresh and local rather than generic hotel buffet stuff, and the whole operation runs smoothly without feeling overly managed. If you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of things, this might feel too quiet. But if you want a proper base for exploring Rhodes without the tourist hotel experience, and you don’t mind a short drive to get to the main attractions, Villa Crypty hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The Villa is in a quiet area with nice neighbors. The shops are in 5minutes by walk, and the spectacular spaces of the island by car are also close. Our contact person,Marios was very kind and helpful. He gave us a lot of good tips and advices. He was always available.

  Fantastic place for vacation. Comfortable and fully equipped house. Moreover, the neighbours are very friendly and helpful. Hours with a nice view, close to the centre of the town and not far from the beach. On top of that we received a welcome basket full of fresh fruit and souvenirs at the end of our stay. One of the best places I’ve ever stayed. Marios, the Manager of the house welcomed us and gave a lot of tips regarding restaurants and sightseeing recommendations. That was a very professional approach.

  Best stay we had in Greece so far and we travel twice a year to Greece, so plenty of times to refer to.
  The house is top!!!
  We traveled with 3 adults and a 3-years old. It was perfect for us and for the child.
  Quiet, but enough restaurants in walking distance.
  Fully equipped kitchen, washer, enough towels, clean, just perfect.

  Very nice interior !!! Stylish.
  Very well equipped!
  Fast Wi-Fi. Imo – a good place for leisure and work. The host is always available. We received a very nice welcoming and parting gifts!
  
  What could be improved: The village is more or less a 30-40 minute drive from the good beaches and tourist sites.
  The villa is at the top of Soroni and to get there you have to drive through narrow streets.

  Villa Crypty is beautiful, new and clean.
  The kitchen is full of tools. Furthermore, there are clean sheets, blankets and towels, two hair dryers, a clothes horse with pegs, an iron and hangers.
  But the thing that struck us the most was the kindness of the staff. Mr. Marios welcomed us with delicious fresh fruit and showed us the city, giving us lots of advice and suggestions, he was also super helpful and answered us at all times for our every need. The owner gave us some very good souvenirs and was kind and helpful.
  The area of ​​the villa is very quiet, the roads are passable easily by car and it is located half an hour from Rhodes and Faliraki, 15 minutes from the airport and 50 minutes from Lindos. There are supermarkets and bars nearby.
  I highly recommend it, if we return to Rhodes we will stay here again!!

  A new and very well equipped house in a quiet environment, parking in front, gas BBQ, perfect kitchen, exceptionally nice hosts Mr Antonakis and Manager Mr Marios, a lot of fruits, wine, tsipouro, water etc. as welcome gifts, honey, olives, marmelades as farewell gifts. Everything was just perfect. One can only recommend this place, restaurants open within short distance even in November.

  Modern spacious property with 3 bedrooms and all the amenities you require. Villa Crypty is located near center of Soroni city in a quiet location. Tasty restaurants and backery, shops, drug store or bus station are in a walking distance max 5 minutes. Beaches in a walk distance about 15 minutes.
  The owner was very helpful, friendly and provided us a welcome package with lots of local fruits, house wine, Ouzo and mineral water. Before our leaving each of us got a present – olive oil, olives and some jams.
  We enjoyed the stay very much and would love to come again.

  The operations manager Marios has given us very useful tips about local supermarket, fresh fish and meat shops at the arrival, as well as where are worth visiting on the island.
  
  The villa is a very good choice for accommodation if you would like to stay in a quiet Greek residential area after retreating from the busy Rhodes old town, Lindos and crowded beaches. We have rent a car so it is very practical to go anywhere on the island from the villa.
  
  The owner of the villa showed kind hospitality and provided a welcome package with lots of fruits, a flask of house wine and a flask of Ouzo. Two days before we left, the owner gave us a large basket of fruits again and some local products as presents. The owner decorated the interior of the villa with tasteful wooden artefacts. Each of the ornamental wooden items is almost unique, such as lamps, tables etc.
