Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Greek island hotels, and Villa Auretta honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. It’s tucked along that winding road between Lardos and Lindos – you know, the one where you’re constantly looking out for those tour buses coming around the corners – but once you pull into their little sanctuary, it feels like you’ve discovered something special. The first thing that hit me was how quiet it actually gets here in the evenings. I mean, you’re close enough to hear the distant hum from Pefki’s main strip when the wind’s right, but it’s more like white noise than anything disruptive. The owners (and I’m pretty sure it’s family-run, though I never asked directly) have this way of making the whole place feel lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, if that makes sense.

What really sold me was the attention to details you don’t expect at a four-star place. The bathroom tiles were actually warm underfoot in the mornings – turns out they’ve got heated floors, which sounds ridiculous for a Greek summer until you experience those surprisingly cool dawn hours in late September. Their pool area faces west, so you get these incredible sunset views over the hills toward Lardos, and honestly, I found myself skipping the beach some afternoons just to claim one of those loungers with a book and a freddo cappuccino from their little café setup. The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully modern – they’ve kept some traditional touches (love the local stone accents) but added things like USB ports actually near the bed and blackout curtains that, miracle of miracles, actually block out the light completely.

Here’s the thing about Villa Auretta’s location that most people don’t realize until they’re there: you’re perfectly positioned between the chaos and the calm. Lindos is maybe eight minutes down the road when you want that postcard-perfect acropolis experience and the inevitable crowds that come with it, but Pefki village is close enough for evening taverna runs without the tourist markup. I particularly loved that little family place – Kostas, I think? – about a five-minute walk toward the village center where the locals actually eat. The hotel staff (especially Maria at the front desk, who seems to know everyone within a twenty-kilometer radius) will point you toward spots like that if you ask. Parking was never an issue, which honestly surprised me given how narrow that main road gets, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hovering while they explain seventeen different amenities you’ll never use. By my third day, I realized I’d found one of those rare places that manages to feel both relaxing and perfectly located without trying too hard to be either.

  The villa was fantastic, the finish was very high end, with great design and lots of space allowing a large party to have their own sleeping areas. The gardens and levels were all finished and maintained perfectly. The pool area lovely with great vistas, the bbq area was on a different level and perfect for a few wines whilst enjoying the bbq. Good location for Lindos and some nice restaurants in Pefkos, 1912 was our favorite and Kanaloa Smart Cocktails & Dining right of the Villa was worth a visit too. The Villa was cleaned whilst we stayed their, a large selection of food and drinks was kindly left by the owners and the owners also brought us a cake! They were lovely people..

  What an amazing villa! We have stayed in many lovely villas and would say Villa Auretta has been the best. Everything is so well thought out and amazingly equipped and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.
  We loved spending the days in the sun by the pool and spending the evenings by the brilliant bbq area. The location was great, only a short walk to bars and restaurants. And the pretty town of Lindos only 10 minutes drive (be sure to go and see it!).
  The owners Flora & Tsaloikos met us and were so kind and left us a fully stocked fridge and some lovely wines. Flora also bought us an amazing cake and treats!
  We had the most wonderful holiday and memories made here. Already looking forward to returning in the future.

  We felt extremely comfortable as a family. The house is tastefully furnished above average and fully equipped. The friendliness of the entire family is exceptional. We experienced this warmth and openness throughout Rhodes. For us, the location was perfect with three children of different ages. The beaches are easily accessible, not crowded, and there are very good restaurants in the town of Pefkos. The beautiful town of Lindos is also quickly reachable at any time if you want to avoid the tourist crowds. Even in the event of illness with the children, we received immediate help, and a doctor was at the house within 15 minutes. That was extraordinary. We are very grateful to the host family and would love to visit this beautiful place again!

  Beautiful villa, exceptional views outside & very modern and spacious inside! The owners were fabulous hosts & truly made sure that we felt at home and were enjoying our experience. Restaurants & nightlife a 20 min walk or a 5 min drive into Pefkos town, and beautiful beach nearby. Exceeded all expectations & would thoroughly recommend!

  We had an incredible stay at this villa, thanks to the fantastic hosts who made us feel more like friends than guests. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a kind and generous welcome pack, which set the tone for a memorable experience. The villa is equipped to a very high standard, with everything you could possibly need thoughtfully provided.
  
  The tiered layout across three floors is perfect, especially for two families wanting their own space, as it can be loosely self-contained to two areas each with a kitchen and sitting area. The BBQ area is a great spot for outdoor meals, and the views are simply breathtaking.
  
  The villa itself is spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated, with spacious, well-kept grounds that create a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. The grounds are very secure if you have young children with a lockable pedestrian gate and a remote controlled gate for cars. Communication with the host was excellent throughout, adding to the overall ease of our stay.
  
  Leaving this place was truly difficult—it's just that good! Highly recommended for anyone seeking a luxurious and comfortable retreat.

  Everything!! There is nothing the hosts haven't thought of. Villa Auretta is beautiful inside and out and in a perfect location. We arrived late due to flight delays and the hosts waited for us to arrive and show us around the villa before leaving us to settle in. They were on hand for anything needed, booking taxi's for us to get around the island and any questions. We wish we'd stayed longer and would come back in a heart beat.

  Having the essentials on arrival was wonderful as we had small children in our party and the provisions made were excellent. The pool area and BBQ area is brilliantly designed, with excellent thought and attention to detail. The Villa was really comfortable and the hosts really looked after us all week long.
  
  What could be improved: There's really no improvement I can think of but if anything its just a little sealant to keep the ants out, but then that's to be expected in hot countries. We're just not used to it from England 🙂 but we managed absolutely fine.

  Everything. The owners went above and beyond to make our stay just perfect. Helping us with food, kids extra toys, little treats and booking taxis for us, nothing was to much. The villa catered for 9 of us, and it was a home away from home. Which meant we could fully relax and enjoy quality time as a family. We couldn’t have asked for a better holiday!!! We cannot wait to come back next year
