Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Villa Anastasia? It’s that perfect sweet spot where you feel like you’ve discovered something special without being completely off the beaten path. I mean, it sits right on that winding road between Apolakkiá and Profilia – honestly, if you blink while driving, you might miss the entrance, but that’s part of its charm. The whole place has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of those flashy resort complexes you see dotting the coastline. When I pulled up (parking is actually pretty generous here, which is a relief after dealing with some of the cramped spots in Rhodes town), the first thing I noticed was how quiet it gets once you step out of the car. You’re close enough to civilization that you won’t feel stranded, but far enough that the only sounds at night are crickets and the occasional distant hum of a scooter heading home.
The staff here – they actually remember your name, not in that forced hotel training way, but genuinely. Check-in was smooth, no hovering or rushing, just efficient and warm. What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve managed to keep that boutique feel despite being a proper 4-star setup. The rooms have character – I’m talking about real attention to details like locally-sourced textiles and bathroom fixtures that don’t feel like they came from a hotel supply catalog. And honestly, that 9.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a night here. The beds are properly comfortable (none of that rock-hard European mattress nonsense), and the air conditioning actually works without sounding like a freight train. You’ll sleep well, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get this wrong.
Here’s the thing about staying in Apolakkiá – you’re perfectly positioned to explore some of Rhodes’ best-kept secrets without the tourist crowds. Villa Anastasia gets this and doesn’t try to keep you locked up on property with manufactured entertainment. The village itself is authentic Greek life, not the sanitized version. There’s a taverna about a ten-minute walk down the road where locals actually eat (the owner’s grandmother still makes the bread), and if you’re into hiking, the trails that lead toward Profilia offer some spectacular views without requiring mountaineering skills. The hotel folks will point you in the right direction, but they’re not pushy about it. Honestly, this is the kind of place where you could easily extend your stay without feeling like you’re missing out on anything – it’s got that rare combination of comfort and authenticity that makes you want to settle in rather than just pass through.

I liked the location (even if it is not close to the equipped beaches). The villa is equipped with everything needed in a house and the hosts are very welcoming. During our stay, we received from the host green and yellow watermelons, a bottle of welcome wine and a few bottles of water. Thank you for hosting!
