You know what struck me first about Villa AmberBlue Kalathos? It’s actually tucked away from the main Kalathos strip in this quiet spot where you can hear the sea but not the rental car engines constantly revving. I mean, Kalathos isn’t exactly party central to begin with – it’s one of those Rhodes villages that still feels more Greek than tourist trap – but this place manages to feel even more secluded without being inconvenient.

The whole setup is honestly pretty smart. They’ve got these whitewashed buildings that catch the light just right in the afternoon, and the pool area – well, it’s not massive, but it’s got this relaxed vibe where you’re not fighting for loungers at dawn. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star, but here’s the thing that surprised me: the bathrooms are actually spacious. I’ve stayed in plenty of Greek hotels where you’re basically showering in a phone booth, but these feel like someone thought about how real people move around. The balconies face different directions depending on your room, so if you’re picky about morning sun versus afternoon shade, it’s worth asking when you book.

What really makes this place work is the location – you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to Kalathos Beach, which is still one of the less crowded stretches on this part of Rhodes. The walk there takes you past a couple of family-run tavernas that honestly serve better food than some of the hotel restaurants in the busier areas. There’s this one place – I think it’s called Symposium – where the owner’s mother still makes the moussaka, and you can smell the béchamel browning from the street. The hotel staff actually knows about spots like this, which tells you they’re plugged into the local scene rather than just pushing the standard tourist circuit. Parking is straightforward too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with rental cars and narrow Greek streets. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you add it all up – it’s not trying to be flashy or revolutionary, just doing the fundamentals really well in a spot where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re missing out on the “real” Rhodes experience.

  The villa was just what we wanted- it has a sea view, the pool area is neatly kept with green grass around it, and the villa itself is new and very clean.
  The location is somewhat secluded, so you have to have a car, but it's very peaceful, and nice beaches are nearby.
  We had to leave earlier than expected, and the owner refunded us without any questions. That was much appreciated!
  We will most definitely come back!

  It is a very nice Villa, with great pool and shade to hide in. The Villa is exactly like the photographs and it is well equipped in the kitchen to cook properly, smart fridge freezer also. The road to the Villa is a bit difficult as single track and up and down, definitely need a car. Supermarket near by about a 5min drive and the beach at Kalathos peaceful and with a couple of beach bars and umbrellas for rent. Highly recommend this as a place to stay.

  This is our third stay in this beautiful villa . You do need a car but that's not a problem for us . These people have been wonderful to us during the fires in rhodes . Cannot praise them highly enough.

  What an amazing place. We had the best time. The villa is BEAUTIFUL, fully equipped with everything you need, 5min from Lindos (by car).

  Entspricht den Fotos und hat unsere Erwartungen komplett erfüllt.

  Daher sehr ruhig und sehr entspannend.
