Okay, so Villa Akrotiri – honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to this place in Vlicha. I mean, you drive through what feels like residential Rhodes for a bit, and then suddenly there’s this gorgeous property that just sort of emerges from the hillside. The thing about Vlicha is that it’s not where the cruise ship crowds end up, which is actually perfect if you want to experience Rhodes without feeling like you’re in a theme park.

The hotel itself has this really thoughtful layout – you know how some places feel like they were designed by someone who’s never actually stayed in a hotel? This isn’t that. The rooms have these massive windows that frame the Aegean in a way that makes you want to just sit there with your morning coffee and not move for hours. And speaking of coffee, they actually have decent espresso, which you can’t take for granted everywhere in Greece (I’m looking at you, Nescafé-serving establishments). The whole property feels intentionally small – there’s maybe 20 rooms total, so you’re not fighting for pool chairs or waiting in line for anything. The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your time, honestly. It’s got this infinity edge thing going on, but it doesn’t feel gimmicky because the view actually justifies it.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. Like, when I asked about beaches, instead of just pointing me toward the obvious tourist spots, they told me about this little cove about ten minutes down the coast road where locals actually swim. And they were right – it was perfect. The location in Vlicha puts you close enough to Lindos that you can drive there in twenty minutes (parking is a nightmare in Lindos during summer, by the way, so go early), but you’re far enough away that you don’t hear the party boats at night. Actually, the only sounds you really hear are the waves and maybe some Greek music drifting up from the tavernas down in the village. There’s this family-run place called Mavros Gatos just down the hill that does incredible grilled octopus – the hotel people will know it.

I should mention that the road up to the hotel is a bit winding, so if you’re prone to car sickness, maybe don’t let someone else drive. But once you’re there, you really don’t need to leave much. The breakfast spread is solid – proper Greek yogurt, local honey, fresh fruit that actually tastes like fruit. They do this thing where they bring warm bread to your table that’s still steaming, which sounds small but somehow makes the whole morning feel more civilized. The Wi-Fi works well enough for video calls, though honestly, you might not want to take them when you’re looking out at that view. It feels almost rude to the scenery.

  The pictures don't do this villa justice. It's honestly really lovely and even bigger than it appears. It was pristine throughout and had everything we needed. The staff are great, Cristos met us at the villa in the very early hours and was still able to provide lots of useful information, and have a laugh and joke with us. It is in a great location which is lovely and peaceful. A car would be advised but you can park at the villa and visit everything there is to see on Rhodes.Its very hot so a much better way to get around. We had a late flight home and it really helped that we were able to pay to keep the villa on through the day 🙂 Thanks everyone 🙏

  The villa was ideal for our family holiday. The pool was fantastic, and the view was breathtaking. The rooms were all spacious. Waking up each morning to the bay view was truly idyllic. Nikos and his team were outstanding, efficiently handling our food, taxi, and car hire needs. They were very attentive, ensuring our stay was exceptional. The weather was perfect too!

  Amazing villa, with amazing view and the pool was amazing! We arrived on a Sunday, and the owner was so nice and drove us to the nearest store so we could by something to eat! Would recommend this for everyone!

  Perfetta posizione per visitare le spiagge più belle di Rodi, il paese di Lindos a 2km, supermarket a 500 m.
  Bellissima vista su il golfo e il mare.
  Pulizia ottima, arredamenti nuovi e moderni, piscina e giardino ottimamente curati.
