You know what caught me off guard about Up to the Sky? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – and I mean that in the best way possible. This place sits right on Επαρχιακή Οδός Παστίδας in Pastida, which honestly sounds more intimidating than it is. It’s basically the main road that cuts through this quiet part of Rhodes, maybe fifteen minutes from the airport but worlds away from the tourist chaos you’ll find closer to Rhodes Town.

The thing about this hotel is that it feels like someone actually thought about what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. Check-in was refreshingly smooth – no endless forms or upselling attempts, just genuine hospitality from staff who seem to actually enjoy their jobs. The lobby has this airy feel with local stone work that doesn’t scream “look how Greek we are” but just feels… right for the place. I stayed here during shoulder season in late May, and honestly, the timing couldn’t have been better. Warm enough for the pool but not so crowded that you’re fighting for loungers at dawn.

What really won me over was the attention to those little details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a week. The shower pressure is legitimately good (trust me, this isn’t a given in Mediterranean hotels), there’s decent WiFi throughout – even by the pool, and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a freight train. The rooms face different directions, so if you’re sensitive to morning light, mention it when booking. I had a partial sea view from the third floor, and you could catch glimpses of the Aegean between the pine trees, especially beautiful right around sunset. The area gets delightfully quiet after dinner time since it’s mostly residential – perfect if you’re one of those people who actually wants to sleep on vacation instead of listening to pool parties until 3 AM.

Pastida itself is one of those villages that feels authentically Greek without trying too hard. There’s a decent taverna about a five-minute walk down the road where locals actually eat (always a good sign), and the hotel staff will point you toward the best beaches nearby. Honestly, being slightly inland has its perks – you get that Mediterranean atmosphere without the constant salt air corroding everything or the inflated beachfront prices. The hotel provides decent directions to Faliraki if you want the full resort experience, but I found myself preferring the quieter beaches the locals recommended. Parking is straightforward and free, which is honestly refreshing after dealing with other Greek islands where finding a spot becomes a daily quest. If you’re looking for a place that gets the basics right without unnecessary frills, Up to the Sky delivers exactly what it promises – just don’t expect a massive resort complex, because that’s precisely not what this is.

  I have been visiting Rhodes for many years and this is one of the best places I have been to if not the best. Where to start? The amazing view that can be seen from almost every window in the house. The spacious and clean house. The amazing kitchen that has everything. The landlady who took care of everything the guests needed. I have no doubt that whoever stays in this house will enjoy Rhodes without even leaving the house. What disappointed me? That I didn't know this place a few years ago and that I have to end my vacation. But ending the vacation in this house leaves a sweet taste for the entire vacation. Thank you very much for the wonderful hospitality.
