Kiotari itself is sort of Rhodes’ best-kept secret. While everyone flocks to Lindos or Rhodes Town, this southern stretch stays refreshingly low-key. The beach here is actually one of the island’s longest — wide, sandy, and way less crowded than the famous spots up north. What I love is that you’re still only about 15 minutes from Lindos if you want to explore, but you get to come back to this peaceful stretch where the biggest decision is whether to swim or just read under an umbrella. The free parking on-site is a real bonus too, especially if you’re planning day trips around the island.

The Accommodation

The apartments and studios are exactly what you’d expect from a well-run Greek property — clean, comfortable, and designed with the climate in mind. Most units have kitchenettes, which honestly makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a few days. There’s something nice about being able to make your morning coffee and eat fresh fruit on your balcony before heading to the beach. The rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and the air conditioning works properly (trust me, in July that matters more than marble countertops).

Beach Life and Surroundings

The beach access is really what sets this place apart. You’re not walking through hotel lobbies or navigating crowded pool areas — you just step outside and you’re on one of Rhodes’ most beautiful stretches of sand. The water here stays relatively calm, and the beach slopes gently, which makes it perfect for swimming. There are a couple of tavernas within walking distance where you can grab lunch without having to trek back to your room to change. I actually ended up eating at the same beachside spot three times because the grilled octopus was that good, and the owner remembered my order by day two.

  The location is in a little quiet village, away from the hustle of tourism, perfect for relaxing and enjoing the nature and Greek hospitality. There are enough facilities around to not feel cast out.
  Sea is just across the road, closer than a pool in some hotels..
  The host is an exceptional person taking care of his guests like family! 😀
  
  What could be improved: Mosquitos! Even on the beach in the evening distracting from enjoying the moonroads on calm sea at nights… Come prepared with sprays/cremes and you should be covered.

  Beautifully decorated and spacious apartment, perfectly suited for a family stay. It provided us with all the comforts and amenities we could have asked for. Kitchenette is well-equipped. Hospitality of our hosts was incredible. They genuinely cared about our comfort and happiness throughout our stay. They even lent some toys for our little one. The holiday apartment boasted a lovely garden that our 15-month-old son adored. It provided a safe and enjoyable space for him to explore and play, allowing us to relax. The tranquility of the surroundings added to the overall charm of the place, making it an idyllic setting for families seeking a peaceful retreat.

  The beach, kind host, reasonably good mini apartment with all facilities inside, possibilities to explore the island further down the southern locations, nice beds, cool wind sounds especially at night! I even made a 4 hour recording of it, beautiful starlit sky. Very cheap bus tickets!
  
  What could be improved: Some restaurants and such, make music noise at night which is bothering, this stops though about 00:00, expensive supermarket in the close vicinity called Sotos. You better fill a bagage bag and do your shopping at faliraki, close to saint nektarios church and at the vasilopoulos supermarket who is 3 times cheaper than kiotari. Too many pairs of arrogant women. No man and woman couples, which is pretty rare to see.
