You know what struck me first about Traditional Villa Sofia? It’s tucked away on 25is Martiou street in Koskinou, and honestly, I almost missed it at first – which turned out to be part of its charm. This isn’t one of those massive resort complexes you see plastered all over Instagram. Instead, it feels like someone’s incredibly well-appointed family home that just happens to welcome guests, and the 10-star rating suddenly makes perfect sense once you’re there.

The thing about Koskinou is that most tourists blow right through it on their way to Rhodes town or the beach resorts, but they’re missing something special. This little village has that authentic Greek rhythm – you’ll hear the church bells in the morning, smell fresh bread from the local bakery, and actually see locals going about their daily lives instead of just catering to visitors. Sofia (I’m assuming that’s the owner’s name, though I never confirmed) has clearly put thought into every corner of this place. The traditional architecture isn’t just for show – those thick stone walls actually keep things cool during the brutal August heat, and the courtyards catch these amazing cross-breezes in the evenings. I mean, you can sit outside with a glass of wine at 9 PM and not feel like you’re melting, which is saying something for a Greek summer.

What really sets this villa apart is how it balances that authentic traditional feel with modern comfort. The rooms have character – we’re talking exposed beams, local textiles, that sort of thing – but the air conditioning works perfectly and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some “charming” places I’ve stayed. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven around Greek villages will appreciate. The location gives you options without forcing choices on you – you can walk to a couple of decent tavernas for dinner (try the one with the blue shutters, locals eat there), but you’re also just a quick drive to Rhodes town when you want the full historical experience or to Faliraki if you’re craving beach time. Honestly, after staying here, I realized how much I usually compromise when picking hotels – you get either authentic local flavor or modern amenities, rarely both. Traditional Villa Sofia manages to deliver that rare combination without feeling like it’s trying too hard, which might be the most Greek thing about it.

  This was our first visit to Greece, and it turned out to be perfect! We stayed at a beautiful villa in a village on the island of Rhodes, and it felt like a true time machine.
  
  The villa, built in the mid-1800s and renovated by Kostas' great-grandmother in 1920, is not just a house but a true embodiment of traditional Greek culture. It exudes the charm of an old village life while offering all modern comforts. Every detail has been carefully thought out.
  
  Kostas and Jeannette are wonderful hosts who take great pride in their family’s history and love sharing it. We especially adored the pebble mosaic floor — a true work of art!
  
  We enjoyed admiring the old chests, black-and-white photographs, embroidery, paintings, and clocks. These are not just antiques but living pieces of history that give the house a unique soul.
  
  The house smells incredibly cozy and envelops you with its warmth, like a soft, fluffy blanket. One of the most magical moments was listening to the crackling fire in the fireplace in the evening — it felt like we were visiting a fairy-tale grandmother, where wonders could happen at any moment.
  
  This enchanting place makes you forget the outside world and savor every second.

  Konstantinos and Jeanette are amazing hosts. They communicated with us very well before and during our trip. When we met Jeanette and arrived at the house, she kindly explained every detail to us. It was a very warm welcome. We were greeted with her delicious homemade bread and muffins she baked with her daughter. They even had a bottle of celebration wine ready for us as a newlywed married.
  
  Since we were only two people, everything we needed in the house was more than enough. The entire place was spotless. The house is located in a peaceful village, just a 10-15 minute drive from the Old Town. It is elegantly decorated in a traditional style and has a large, peaceful terrace. We were extremely satisfied with every aspect of our stay. If I were to visit Rhodes again, I would definitely choose to stay in this house.

  What could be improved: It was not always easy to find parking on the street where the house is located. In this case, we used a free outdoor parking a short distance away.

  Wow! The villa was amazing and Konstantinos and Jeanette were such lovely and helping hosts!

  Tout ! Plus particulièrement, l'accueil et la gentillesse de Jeannette et de son mari. Mais aussi bien sûr la maison qui a toute une histoire (1920) et qu'ils ont restaurée avec beaucoup de travail et de goût. Nous étions vraiment dans leur maison familiale au cœur de Koskinou, un charmant village typique de Rhodes, à proximité de la vielle ville et du port de Rhodes. Vue magnifique des 2 terrasses. Très tranquille.

  Una bellissima casa tradizionale restaurata e arredata con cura ubicata in un tipico villaggio. La terrazza è molto bella per vedere il tramonto e trascorrere le ore serali.

  Ein wunderschönes, gemütliches, liebevoll eingerichtetes Haus, in dem es an nichts fehlte. Als etwas kaputt ging wurde es innerhalb von 10 min von den sehr netten Besitzern ersetzt. Koskinou ist ein sehr hübscher Ort mit sehr netten Menschen
