I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to those little tavernas along the beach road, but the villas sit back from all the hustle – honestly, the only sounds I remember are cicadas and the occasional motorbike puttering by.

The place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake. These aren’t cookie-cutter hotel rooms; each villa feels like someone’s thoughtfully designed summer retreat. The owners clearly put real money into the details – I’m talking about things like proper rainfall showers, kitchenettes that actually work (with decent knives, imagine that), and terraces with those heavy wooden loungers that don’t blow around in the Aegean wind. What really sold me was the pool area – it’s got this natural stone design that somehow stays cool underfoot even during those brutal afternoon hours when the sun’s absolutely relentless. The water’s kept pristine too, which honestly isn’t always a given at smaller properties.

Here’s the thing about Pefki that most people don’t realize until they get there: it’s perfectly positioned between the medieval charm of Lindos (about 15 minutes south) and the livelier beaches heading north toward Rhodes town. You can rent a scooter right down the hill and explore those hidden coves that only locals seem to know about, or just walk five minutes to Pefki Beach where the water’s this incredible turquoise and the tavernas serve proper Greek salads – you know, the kind where the tomatoes actually taste like something. The staff at Theonia really gets this balance between being helpful and letting you do your own thing. They’ll point you toward the best bakery in the village (it’s the one without the English sign, naturally) or help you figure out the bus schedule to Rhodes town, but they’re not hovering or pushing expensive tours.

I’ll be honest – this isn’t the place if you want a big resort with organized activities and swim-up bars. But if you’re looking for that perfect spot to unwind with a book, maybe cook a simple dinner with ingredients from the local market, and wake up to views that make you remember why you love traveling in the first place, Theonia Villas absolutely delivers. The fact that it’s rated 9.6 doesn’t surprise me one bit – it’s the kind of place that makes you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.

  Great Location just on edge of town and very close to a lovely beach.
  Host very friendly and willing to help wherever possible.
  Beautifully furnished and well maintained
  apartment with everything we needed.

  What could be improved: Curtain in main room white/cream and not lined.Apartment is open plan with the bed therefore those curtains allowed daylight through,so if you don't mind being awake with daylight coming through at 5am it's all good.
  Being a Greek island no tissue allowed in toilet, probably related somehow to plumbing, that's fine but no bags provided for throwing soiled tissue out.
  Stayed for a week, a sign asks guests to keep towels clean. No change of sheets or towels until half way through stay. Impossible to keep towels clean. No washing machine.Washed them ourselves, as I hate soiled white towels.

  Lovely room overlooking quiet pool. My daughter had her own bedroom upstairs which was great. The property wasn’t in the centre of town which is what we wanted but easily walkable in 4 minutes to every bar etc.

  Apt was in a great location – 5 minute walk in to town with good choice of bars & restaurants. Bus stops 2 mins walk. Apt had everything we needed for a comfortable stay – well equipped kitchen, nice bathroom, huge living/sleeping space. Fabulous balcony overlooking the pool. Everything immaculately clean. Host, Athina, on hand if we needed to ask any questions. Absolutely recommend this place.

  The studio had a separate additional bedroom upstairs, a good sized and equipped kitchen for basic meals (pasta, salads, omelettes,etc.), a very spacious fridge and freezer and a lovely balcony overlooking the pool and the hills.
  The pool area was great and quiet; there were other guests but it never felt crowded (I think there were only more than 7 people in the pool once in two weeks!). By the pool there was also a big garden table with comfy chairs to enjoy food and refreshment in the shed.
  Athina, the host, was amazing: very warm welcoming and friendly and look after the place so well. The whole place is spotless and there are gorgeous trees and plants throughout the grounds
