So I spent a week at The Ixian Grand last September, and honestly? This place gets it right in ways that a lot of five-star hotels completely miss. It’s perched right on Ixia Beach – not the main Rhodes town beach that’s packed with day-trippers, but the windsurfing strip where you’ll actually see locals hanging out. The adults-only thing isn’t just a marketing gimmick either; there’s this calm, sophisticated vibe throughout the property that you notice the moment you walk into that marble lobby with its subtle sea breeze drifting through.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to feel luxurious without being stuffy. The suites – and I mean, every room here is a suite which is pretty great – have these massive balconies that actually face the water, not some random courtyard like you sometimes get. You can hear the windsurfers’ equipment clinking in the morning (Ixia’s famous for windsurfing, by the way), but it’s not annoying, more like a gentle reminder that you’re somewhere special. The staff genuinely seems to know what they’re doing too; check-in was smooth, and the concierge guy Dimitris helped me figure out the local bus system to get into Rhodes Old Town without that usual tourist-trap taxi markup. Speaking of which – parking’s free if you’re driving, which is huge because finding spots near the beach anywhere else on the island is basically impossible during summer.

The food situation is where they really shine, I think. Their main restaurant does this Mediterranean-meets-international thing that could easily be terrible, but their chef actually knows what they’re doing. I had this lamb dish with local herbs that I’m still thinking about months later. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM, but if you grab a spot early or wait until after 4, you’ve got this perfect setup overlooking the Aegean. And you know what? The 8.7 rating feels about right – it’s not perfect (the WiFi in some rooms is spotty, and the spa books up fast), but it delivers on the important stuff. If you’re looking for that upscale Greek island experience without the Mykonos prices or Santorini crowds, this is honestly one of the better choices on Rhodes. Just book early if you’re planning for summer – word’s getting out about this place, and the good suites with the corner balconies go fast.

  Great hotel near Rhodes, it has three main outside pools, many rooms with swim-up or private pools. It also have a private beach, all-day snack and bar service. The app is very convenient to manage the restaurant bookings and order for the different services. One day there was an issue with my pool (I had a private pool), they immediately sent someone to fix it, and offered me various perks and additional services to make up for it. A real 5 star experience.

  The hotel was consistently clean, and the food was genuinely delicious. The staff were friendly and attentive. It offers a calm and comfortable atmosphere without unnecessary noise or overwhelming crowds — that was my favorite part. There were also entertaining activities in the evenings, so we were never bored. My only regret is not staying longer at the hotel. 🙂

  I loved the Ixian Grand. I was invited to bid for a room upgrade which I did and I won the bid and ended up in a suite with a pool. The suite was fabulous and the pool a good size. I was disappointed to find a jacuzzi bath rather than a walk in shower and getting in the bath with my 70 plus year old short legs and arthritic knees was a challenge.
  All staff were wonderful, all of them had a wonderful attitude befitting an outstanding five star hotel.
  The suite gave us access to the Alazonia restaurant which was really lovely, food delicious and the best service.
  A truly excellent hotel.

  Our stay at this resort was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was absolutely amazing – especially the reception team, who were incredibly polite and welcoming. By far the best service we've ever received.
  
  From the dining room to the Alazonia and Milonges restaurants, and both the indoor and outdoor bars – the hospitality was outstanding throughout.
  
  This is hands down the best resort we've visited, not just in Greece, but also across the Middle East.
