Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Greece over the years, but Thalia’s House honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you’re driving along that winding Eparchiakos Dromos from Kalamona toward Psinthou, you might almost miss it tucked away in Pastida, but that’s actually part of its charm. It feels like you’ve stumbled onto something the tour groups haven’t discovered yet, which is getting harder to find on Rhodes these days.

The first thing that hits you is how quiet it is here. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything – the main road connections are solid if you’ve got a car, which honestly you’ll want anyway to properly explore this part of the island. But there’s this sense of being tucked away from all the chaos of the resort areas. The owners (I’m assuming the Thalia connection is family-related, though I never got the full story) have this knack for making the place feel residential rather than hotel-like. You know that feeling when you’re staying somewhere and it actually feels like someone’s home rather than a business? That’s what I’m talking about. The common areas have this lived-in comfort, and the little details – the way they arrange the outdoor seating, the plants scattered around, even how they handle the morning coffee setup – it all feels intentional but not fussy.

What really sold me, though, was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re positioned perfectly to hit the western beaches without the typical tourist traffic, and if you want to explore the interior villages (which you absolutely should), you’re already halfway there. I spent one morning just walking through Pastida itself – it’s one of those villages where you’ll see more locals going about their actual daily routines than tourists hunting for photo ops. The evening light here is something else too, especially if you grab one of the spots with a view toward the hills. I’m not usually one to wake up early on vacation, but I found myself getting up just to catch that morning light with coffee. And here’s the practical stuff that matters: parking is straightforward, the wifi actually works where you need it to, and check-in was refreshingly human – no corporate script, just genuine conversation about what you might want to do during your stay. That 9.8 rating isn’t inflated marketing nonsense; it’s what happens when someone clearly gives a damn about the experience they’re creating.

  The location was great. It’s close to the main roads but also secluded enough to have peace and quiet.
  Great for families with small children since the owner has two very cute little boys with whom our son loved to play.

  The building is new and clean, featuring a fully equipped kitchen that made my stay very comfortable. The owners are friendly and went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant experience. Upon arrival, I was greeted with coffee, tea, fruits, and a few snacks in the apartment, which was a thoughtful touch. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cozy and welcoming stay.

  The house is very well equipped with all the necessities that a family will need on a trip.The location of the residence is just amazing and very convenient as it is very close to the airport and reasonable close to the port. In addition, the housekeepers are very friendly, kind and helpful as they provide you with a lot of information to make your holidays to the island a great experience.

  The apartment was fully equipped with everything you might need and more. Host was friendly and always eager to help. As the host lives next door safety is not an issue even if a bit isolated. Peace and quiet. The shaded parking spot is very nice, Host agreed to provide a socket for charging EV. Value for money.
  
  What could be improved: Location requires a bit extra travelling to get to the best beaches on the other side of the island. If having a car with low clearance care required at the last meters to get to the property.
