Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Sunway Suite? It’s tucked away on this quiet street – Ionos Dragoumi – that most tourists probably walk right past, but honestly, that’s exactly why it works. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from the medieval Old Town (you can actually see the fortress walls from some of the upper floor windows), but you’re not dealing with the crowds and street noise that come with staying right in the thick of things.

The whole place has this understated elegance that I wasn’t expecting from the photos online. The lobby’s got these beautiful marble floors that stay cool even in the afternoon heat, and there’s this subtle lighting that makes everything feel calm after you’ve been wandering around Rhodes Town all day. The suites themselves – and they really are proper suites, not just renamed hotel rooms – have these little kitchenettes that actually come in handy. I ended up grabbing fresh bread and local cheese from the market near Mandraki Harbor most mornings instead of doing the hotel breakfast thing every day. The air conditioning works properly too, which… well, if you’ve stayed in some Greek hotels in August, you’ll appreciate that detail.

What really sold me on the place was the staff’s local knowledge. The guy at reception (I think his name was Nikos?) drew me this little hand-sketched map showing the best route to walk the city walls at sunset, plus he steered me away from the tourist-trap tavernas and toward this incredible little place where locals actually eat. The location makes these kinds of discoveries easy – you’re close enough to duck back to your room if you need a break from the sun, but you’re also positioned perfectly for exploring both the Old Town and the newer parts of Rhodes without feeling like you’re constantly hiking back and forth. Street parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but the hotel has arrangements with a nearby lot, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need your car much anyway. The whole historic center is walkable, and the beach at Elli is maybe a fifteen-minute walk if you take the scenic route along the harbor.

  We really enjoyed our stay! The hosts were great. The location was nice; it was in the central part of the newer part of the city of Rhodes but also in walking distance of the old town. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and we liked the layout. Would recommend!
  
  What could be improved: We did get a close parking spot on the street, but we felt lucky to do so! I could see the street parking being competitive during busy season.

  The accommodation has it all. It’s perfectly located with walking distance to all amenities, restaurants, old town and the whole port area. The host was such a great help, answered all our questions, ran through the apartment and what was close by. He was easy to contact and great assistance with checkin and check out.   The property was bright, fresh, clean, well equipped.
  
  Georges was very welcoming and engaging, we got a taxi from the airport (€25) and he met us on the street outside the apartment and showed us around, he has lists of local things to see in the apartment so it is really easy to plan trips and pack the most into your break.
  
  Beaches, restaurants, nightlife, historic old town and restaurants are all within a 10 minute walk.
  
  The apartment is comfortable and well equipped, I went with my 3 adult sons and it felt large enough, air conditioning in 2 bedrooms, fan in one.
  
  Very welcome verandah which gets the sun all afternoon/evening so perfect for taking a break and watching the world go by.
  Rhodes is beautiful, laidback and so welcoming.
  
  The apartment is off the most beautiful little lane packed with flowers, fragrances and beautiful paving.

  It was an amazing trip to Rhodes thanks to George! The apartment is located on a quiet and very beautiful street, a 7-minute walk from all shops and the beach, near a great restaurant where you can have a snack. Georg met us at the port, showed us everything in the apartment, treated us to local sweets and wine. The apartment had everything you need for a comfortable stay — dishes, towels, nice little things, bed linen.

  Great location, amazing host. He waited for us with huge smile, a lot of good recommendations and a cold bottle of prosecco. Apartment is spacious and well equipped.
  
  What could be improved: Beds could be slightly more comfortable and some of the doors need a bit of work done as they are pretty loud when opening.

  The host did everything to make our stay in Rhodes pleasant. Like, personally taking us in his car from the port to the apartment, recommendations for restaurants and places of entertainment, at the same time he made sure all the time that we were getting along and that we didn't lack anything. The apartment itself has undergone a very aesthetic renovation, very comfortable with large rooms.
