You know what struck me first about Sunset Apartments? The name actually makes sense – I mean, you’re right there in Archangelos where you can catch these incredible sunsets over the Aegean without fighting crowds like you would down in Rhodes Town. The whole setup feels refreshingly low-key compared to the massive resort complexes that dominate other parts of the island.

Honestly, Archangelos is one of those spots that locals love but somehow stays off most tourists’ radar. You’re about a 15-minute drive from Tsambika Beach (which, trust me, is worth the trip), but the real charm is just wandering around the village itself. There’s this tiny bakery just down from the apartments where the owner – I think his name was Yannis – makes these incredible tiropita that are still warm at 7 AM. The apartments themselves are surprisingly well-maintained for a 4-star place. I was expecting the usual tired furniture and questionable plumbing, but everything actually worked properly. The kitchen had decent cookware (not just the usual bent pans), and the Wi-Fi was solid enough for video calls back home. What I really appreciated was the quiet – you get village sounds, sure, but none of that constant traffic noise or late-night party chaos you deal with in busier areas.

The 9.4 rating isn’t just inflated review scores either. The family running the place genuinely seems to care about getting details right. They left local honey and olive oil as a welcome gift, which sounds small but honestly set the tone for the whole stay. Parking is right there (no hunting for spots), and they were flexible about late check-in when our flight got delayed. The rooms get great morning light, and if you’re on the upper floors, you can actually see the sea between the houses. Look, it’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but it’s the kind of place where you settle in and actually relax instead of constantly thinking about what you’re missing elsewhere. If you want to experience a bit of real Greek island life without completely roughing it, this hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  A lovely property in a peaceful location, in the heart of the island – close to the most interesting spots on Rhodes. Plenty of parking space, a wonderful shaded garden, and a great pool. The rooms are cleaned daily. Highly recommended!

  This place was a dream!! The garden and pool were absolutely beautiful and kept so well. It really felt like we were in our own little paradise. The rooms were also exceptionally clean . The family that ran the property were so nice !! It felt more like we were guests at someone’s home rather than just staying in a hotel.

  Great apartment! Everything was very clean, spacious, good bed, and all amenities were present. Beautiful garden to relax in and close to the city.

  The house Is very big and there is a lot of space. There is parking and it's in the centre of the island.
  The owner is really nice. The apartment is clean and they clean it every day.

  Lovely spacious well equipped apartment surrounded by pretty gardens. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Huge wrap around balcony which captured the sun throughout the day.
