Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, and honestly? Sunny Villa caught me off guard in the best way possible. It’s tucked away on Dioskouron street in Faliraki – not right in the thick of the strip where you’ll hear every drunk British tourist singing at 3am, but close enough that you can walk to the main beach in about eight minutes. The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it.

The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about this place. I mean, it’s got that 4-star rating for a reason, but what struck me wasn’t the fancy lobby or anything like that – it was the little things. The woman at reception (I think her name was Maria?) knew exactly which room would be quietest when I mentioned I’m a light sleeper, and she was right. My balcony faced this lovely little courtyard with olive trees instead of the main road. You know what really impressed me though? The housekeeping. I’ve never – and I mean never – had my towels folded so perfectly that I almost felt bad using them. The bathroom had this fantastic rainfall shower that actually had decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled around the Greek islands, you know that’s not always a given.

What really sets Sunny Villa apart is how it feels like a proper base for exploring rather than one of those places where you’re trapped in a resort bubble. There’s a little taverna called Kostas literally two streets over that serves the best moussaka I had during my entire trip – the hotel staff actually recommended it, which tells you something about how they approach hospitality. The beach at Faliraki gets absolutely mental during peak season (think July-August), but from Sunny Villa you can easily walk down to the quieter southern end where the locals go, or grab one of those blue buses to Lindos for the day. Parking was surprisingly easy too – there’s a small lot behind the hotel that’s free for guests, which saved me probably 20 euros a day compared to the beachfront places. The only tiny complaint I’d have is that the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s online, but honestly, that forced me to actually sit on my balcony with a book and a glass of that local Athiri wine they sell at the little shop downstairs. Sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you disconnect anyway, right?

  We had wonderful 2 nights in this spacious premise with jacuzzi. Our hosts were wonderful and the stay in their house was very joyful. The place owe parking spot and is very easy reachable by car. Published photos shows exactly how it is when you get there. We highly recommend this apartment as a great value for that price.

  Amazing place! Currently (July'24) it has one, two bedroom apartment, so there is a lot of privacy. The place was very clean, towels, bed linen, bathrobes were provided, there is also dishwasher and washing machine. Kitchen well equipped. 5 min to the market, 5 min to the excellent bakery with perfect cappuccino, ice cream and local products. Parking next to the house. 10 min by car to Anthony Quinn Bay.
  And the last but not least is the sea view! The house is located on the hill. Actually, you can just relax the whole day (and night!) in the jacuzzi or on the sunbed, listen to cicadas concert and enjoy the view. When too hot, you can cool off with a shower outside or turn on the garden mist. When you will be there, we recommend to see the sunrise over the Turkish hills. The hosts were very nice, we felt taken care of, we got tips about places to visit and we knew that if anything needed we can freely contact Maria.
  Sunny Villa is definitely on our 'revisit list' 🙂

  Прекрасне місце для сімейного відпочинку чи компанії на чотирьох людей. Холодне джакузі прекрасно допомагає адаптуватися до температури. Немає поруч сусідів, тихо вечором, гарна барбекю, поруч магазини, м'ясний магазин, ресторанчики. Дуже привітні господарі, відгуються на прохання, мені сподобалася комунікація. Через букінг відповідають протягом доби, але через WhatsApp досить швидко. Респект: у нас літак був вечором, дали нам тимчасовий номер для очікування, ми дуже задоволені.
  
  What could be improved: Трошки далеко від моря, пішки 16-18 хвилин.
  В одній кімнаті хотілося би оновити ліжко, тумби і трюмо, бо кухня і решта кімнат все гарне. Але це не заважає відпочинку, тому ми не відчули дискомфорту.
