I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Summer Dream Villa in Afandou, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. It’s tucked away in this quiet residential area, maybe a ten-minute walk from the main beach road, and you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special.

The thing about Afandou is that it’s still pretty authentic Greek island life – not completely overrun with tourist traps like some parts of Rhodes. You’ve got actual neighbors hanging laundry and elderly locals playing backgammon at the little kafeneio down the street. The villa sits perfectly in this mix, close enough to the action but far enough that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM. The owners (I think they’re a local family) clearly put thought into the details – there’s this gorgeous bougainvillea that frames the entrance, and honestly, the Wi-Fi actually works well, which… let’s just say that’s not always a given in Greece. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel. I mean, the furniture isn’t trying to be Instagram-perfect, but everything’s clean and the beds are surprisingly good. The little kitchenette situation is perfect if you want to grab fresh tomatoes and feta from the market in town – and you should, because the produce here is incredible.

What really sold me was the terrace area where you can see glimpses of the sea through the olive trees, especially at sunset. It’s maybe a 15-minute walk down to Afandou Beach, which is this long stretch of pebbles and sand that never gets as crowded as the beaches closer to Rhodes Town. The water’s crystal clear, and there’s usually a decent breeze – perfect for those July afternoons when the heat gets intense. The walk back up is a bit of a climb (fair warning), but there’s a little taverna halfway up where you can stop for a cold Mythos if you need a break. I ended up eating there twice because their grilled octopus was ridiculously good, and the owner’s wife makes this lemon cake that’s… well, let’s just say I asked for the recipe. Parking’s easy enough – there’s space right outside, which is honestly a relief because driving around some Greek islands can be an adventure you didn’t sign up for. The whole area gets quiet by 10 PM, so if you’re looking for all-night party vibes, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want to actually relax and experience a bit of real Greek island life without completely roughing it, Summer Dream Villa hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  The house was very clean and the pool was a good size. The sunbeds were good!
  
  What could be improved: The beds are a bit too hard. Some of us had backpain. The busy street is nearby and you can hear the cars but at night, it is silent.

  Casa dotata di tutte le comodità, c'è tutto quello che serve.
  Abbiamo passato una bellissima settimana cucinando spesso e godendoci la piscina.
  Camere grandi, letti comodi, aria condizionata ovunque. Consigliatissima.
  
  What could be improved: A causa della vicinanza alla superstrada si sentono le auto che passano però niente di troppo fastidioso.

  Drugi raz byliśmy na Rodos i z czystym sumieniem mogę polecić Summer Dream Villa, gospodarz jest bardzo miły i pomocny , dawał nam dużo cennych wskazówek gdzie zjeść , gdzie zobaczyć oszałamiający wschód słońca , był zawsze dostępny . Villa ma idealne położenie do zwiedzania wyspy . Na powitanie dostaliśmy owoce, wodę i wino . 2 minuty autem od domu znajduje się sklep.spozyczy , kawiarnie , restauracje . Vasilis i Michaela dziękujemy za wspaniały pobyt 😍

  – L’hôte est vraiment très agréable et aux petits soins.
  – tout est équipé parfaitement pour y vivre et ce sentir bien.
  – les photos sont conformes et ne sont pas en grand angles comme certaines locations.
  
  What could be improved: – le point que l’ont pourrait regretter c’est que 2 chambres sont située du côté route et que le bruit peu gêné certaines personnes mais qui avec la Clim le bruit sera largement calmé.

  Villa molto bella, ma soprattutto molto confortevole. È dotata di ogni accessorio, dalla lavatrice alla macchina per fare il caffè frappè. Soggiorno molto ampio, così come le camere. Cucina fornitissima. Ha un bello spazio esterno sotto una veranda dove mangiare. La posizione è molto comoda per visitare l'isola, a metà strada tra Rodi e Lindos
