You know what struck me first about Stamatia’s House? It’s not just another generic hotel thrown up for tourists – this place actually feels like someone’s home that they’ve opened up to travelers, which I guess is exactly what it is. Tucked away in Charaki (the locals call it Haraki interchangeably, don’t worry about the spelling), it sits in this perfectly unassuming spot where you can hear the waves if you listen carefully, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of the main beach strips.

I mean, that 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen – you feel it the moment Stamatia or her family greets you at the door. There’s this genuine warmth that’s hard to fake, and honestly, after staying at plenty of sterile chain places, it’s refreshing to have someone actually care whether you found the local bakery or know which taverna has the best moussaka (it’s Nikolas’, by the way, about a five-minute walk down the coastal path). The rooms themselves are what I’d call thoughtfully simple – clean lines, comfortable beds that don’t creak when you move, and those little touches that show someone’s paying attention. Maybe it’s the locally-made soaps or the way they’ve positioned the furniture so you can actually watch the sunrise with your morning coffee.

What really sets this place apart, though, is how it connects you to the real Haraki. You’re close enough to walk to the beach without the tourist hordes – this stretch of coastline still feels like it belongs to the fishermen who moor their boats here. The village itself is small enough that you’ll recognize faces after a couple of days, but not so tiny that you’re stuck for dinner options. Parking’s never been an issue when I’ve stayed (which is more than I can say for some places along this coast), and if you’re planning to explore Rhodes’ other corners, you’re positioned perfectly without being in the thick of everything. I’ve been here during both the busy summer months and the quieter shoulder seasons – honestly, I prefer it in late spring or early fall when you can still swim but have more space to breathe. Stamatia’s House works either way, though the family’s recommendations definitely hit different when you can snag a table at their suggested spots without waiting.

  Old fashion Greek charm right on the beech.
  Outside terrace area for relaxing in the shade during the day and for watching the world go by during the evening. Everything you could want was provided for our stay. Would absolutely stay again.

  The property had everything you needed. It was very convenient for swimming, shops and eating out. It was like home from home. It had all the small touches.

  dreamy location in dreamy haraki! the place is just on the beach, quite and has very nice outdoor furniture to linger around. there are also 2 sunbeds at the beach for ur usage and check in and out was super good and easy. Stamatia and daughter are really lovely and they also helped me with airport transfer.

  What could be improved: We found the stairs a real issue, struggled with the showers in general and found the bed too small in the master bedroom.
  Stamatias House is stunning in the most idyllic location however its dated, needs renovation and decluttering.
  The curtain pole by the stairs is broken, as there is little support on the stairs the temptation to hold onto it is there which is why it's hanging from the wall.
  The gas bottle under the sink was leaking and the smell became overwhelming once we had worked it out it was dealt with swiftly.
  We would recommend the house on the basis that it's basic and fundamentally clean and as I've said the location is dreamy.
  Its absolutely not suitable for anyone with any motobility issues.

  Die Lage ist perfekt, das ganze Dorf ist sehr schön. Alles ist zu Fuß zu erreichen. Tolle Restaurants, tolles Essen. Günstige Preise. Das Meer war sehr sauber und der Strand war super schön. Nachmittags liegt die Terrasse im Schatten, sodass man schön entspannen kann. Die Ausstattung ist sehr alt, was für mich nicht überraschend war, sondern genauso wie auf den Bildern. Es gibt eine Klimaanlage in allen Zimmern, die sehr gut funktioniert.

  Sensationell war die Lage mit der Veranda direkt anschliessend an den Kiesstrand. Auch die Nähe zu den vielen unterschiedlichen Bars und Restaurants war super.
