Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Sperveri Enalio Villas – I mean, Afantou isn’t exactly where most tourists end up on Rhodes. But you know what? That’s exactly why this place works so well. It sits in this quiet pocket between Afantou village and the coastline, where you can actually hear the waves at night instead of motorbikes revving until 3 AM like in Rhodes Town.

The villas themselves are spread across this hillside property that feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-designed compound than a hotel. Each unit has its own terrace (some with private pools, which honestly makes all the difference in July heat), and the architecture is that clean, modern Greek style that doesn’t try too hard to be “traditionally charming.” The owner clearly knows what they’re doing – everything from the stone work to the way the buildings are positioned to catch the sea breeze feels intentional. Parking is easy, which sounds boring but trust me, after trying to navigate rental cars through Lindos or Oia, you’ll appreciate being able to just… park and relax.

What really sets this place apart is the location, though most people probably don’t realize it at first glance. You’re about a 15-minute walk down to Traganou Beach, which locals will tell you is one of the better stretches of coast on this side of the island – way less crowded than Tsambika but with the same crystal-clear water. The village of Afantou is close enough for evening walks to grab dinner at those family tavernas where they don’t even have English menus (in the best possible way), but far enough that you’re not dealing with tour buses or souvenir shops. I actually ended up extending my stay because I kept discovering these little hiking trails through the hills behind the property. The staff mentioned there’s an old monastery ruin about 20 minutes up the main path – totally worth it for the views back toward the coast.

The service hits that sweet spot where they’re helpful without being hovering. Check-in was smooth, they had good recommendations for car rental places in Kolimbia, and when the air conditioning in my villa started making weird noises on day three, they had someone fix it within an hour. The cleaning staff clearly takes pride in their work too – I’ve stayed at five-star places where the attention to detail wasn’t this consistent. You can tell this isn’t some big chain operation; it feels like the kind of place where the owners actually care about whether you have a good time. I mean, with a 9.6 rating, they’re obviously doing something right, but it’s not the kind of perfection that feels sterile or fake. It’s more like… well-executed hospitality that lets you actually relax instead of worrying about whether you’re getting your money’s worth.

  We had a wonderful time. The villa is well equipped and has a fantastic view. The owner went out of her way to accomodate us! I asked if there was a custom bathtub for babies available for my son, and Christina arranged for it to be available in the villa, which was a huge help for us! Not to mention her 24/7 availablity for any questions we had.

  Fantastic Villa, great location , fab views, very comfortable, everything you need for a great stay, A very informative & generous host with gifts and food, Nothing was too much trouble for the house keeper who made our stay so lovely!

  The villa was stunning, in a beautiful, quiet location with a view of the sea in the distance. Christina gave us a lot of useful information and was very helpful. It was lovely that the housekeeper brought us some home made cakes and a local Greek dish.

  Nydelig hus, med flott basseng! Vi bodde der 8 voksne og hadde god plass. Rent og hyggelig. Svært trivelig vertskap som strekker seg langt for at du skal få en god opplevelse. Vi fikk til og med varm kake levert på døren. Den var nydelig! Meget gode tips om hva man bør se i området, og til gode restauranter. Anbefales varmt ☺️

  Villa très confortable avec tous le nécessaire qu'il faut. La vue sur la pisicne avec la mer au loin est vraiment un plus. La villa n'est pas très grande mais très bien agencé. D'ailleurs le rez de chaussée est parfaitement adapté à des personnes à mobilité réduite.
  Le logement est assez bien situé, pas loin de toutes les plus belles plages côté Est.
  Aussi, le personnel et les propriétaires sont aux petits soins avec les locataires. (Un petit panier de bienvenu nous attendait).
  Bref villa parfaite pour passer des vacances en famille ou entre amis.
  
  What could be improved: Rien juste savoir que les villas sont situés en hauteur, donc pas facile d'accès sans voiture mais sinon aucun soucis.
