You know what struck me first about Sol Cosmopolitan Rhodes? It’s actually positioned perfectly on Irakleidon Avenue where you get this nice buffer from the main tourist chaos, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, Ixia isn’t exactly a hidden gem anymore, but this stretch feels more… I don’t know, residential? Less frantic than being right in Rhodes Town. The hotel itself has that modern four-star vibe without trying too hard – clean lines, decent-sized lobby that doesn’t echo like a cathedral, and honestly, the staff seem to actually know the area well enough to give you proper directions instead of just pointing vaguely toward town.

The thing is, staying here puts you in this sweet spot where you can walk to some really solid tavernas that locals actually use (there’s this little place about three blocks down that does incredible grilled octopus – the owner’s usually outside smoking and will wave you in), but you’re also close enough to the windsurfing spots that make Ixia worth staying in rather than just passing through. The rooms are what you’d expect from a place with an 8.6 rating – they’ve clearly been updated recently, decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and the bathrooms actually have proper water pressure. I stayed during late September when things were cooling down, and honestly, the pool area was perfect then – not packed with kids, still warm enough for evening swims.

Here’s what I really appreciated though: the practical stuff just works. Parking isn’t a nightmare (which, if you’ve driven around Rhodes in summer, you’ll understand why this matters), the Wi-Fi doesn’t drop every five minutes, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. The location means you can catch the bus into Rhodes Old Town easily enough, but you’re also positioned well for day trips up the coast – Lindos is about an hour drive, and honestly, having a quieter base to come back to after battling those crowds makes all the difference. It’s not the most Instagram-worthy hotel you’ll ever stay in, but sometimes you just want a place that gets the basics right and doesn’t cost a fortune. The breakfast is solid too – proper Greek yogurt, decent coffee, and they don’t run out of everything by 9 AM like some places do.

  Property was lovely and staff were amazing so friendly and willing to help. Facilities were great especially for children with plenty to do. Supermarkets and shops nearby and bus or short cab ride to Rhodes town which was beautiful at night.

  Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpfull, from the room cleaners to the waiters to the receptionists and bar staff. The hotel and grounds were very clean and constantly being cleaned by staff.

  Super friendly staff!!! Great aqua gym team! Nice food! Great location close to Rhodes medieval town. 2 nice swimming pools. Great weather in October 2023. Great balcony view towards the garden and sea (room 302).
  
  What could be improved: We stayed in room 302 and could hear noise from room 303 very clear. It didn’t disturb us a lot but it could be improved.
