You know what struck me first about Sky-Line Apartments? The name actually makes sense – you really do get these sweeping views that stretch right across the Aegean, especially from the upper floors. It’s tucked away on Kapodistriou Street in Afantou, which honestly is one of those spots that feels authentically Greek without all the tourist circus you get in some places. I mean, you’re close enough to Rhodes town (maybe 20 minutes by car) but far enough out that you’ll actually hear roosters in the morning instead of tour buses.

The apartments themselves are surprisingly spacious – like, actually spacious, not “European spacious” where you can touch both walls with your arms spread. Each unit has this lived-in comfort that’s way better than sterile hotel rooms. The kitchenettes are properly equipped too, which is clutch because there’s this little family-run taverna just down the hill where you can grab fresh ingredients, and the owner’s wife will literally teach you how to make proper Greek salad if you ask nicely. The balconies are where you’ll spend most of your time though – there’s something about that evening light hitting the water that just makes you want to stay up way too late with a glass of wine.

What really sets this place apart is how the locals treat it. It’s not some tourist bubble – you’ll see Greek families booking stays here for their own holidays, which tells you everything you need to know about the quality. The beach at Afantou is this gorgeous stretch of pebbles and sand that never gets stupidly crowded, even in August. Plus, and this might sound weird, but the soundproofing is actually decent. I was worried about noise since it’s right in the village, but the stone construction keeps things surprisingly quiet. The only real downside? Well, you’ll need a car or scooter to get around easily – walking to the main beach takes about 15 minutes, which isn’t terrible, but it’s uphill on the way back. The staff speaks excellent English and they’re the kind of people who remember your name after day two, which honestly just makes the whole experience feel more like staying with friends than checking into accommodation. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Greek island life and actual comfort, this place nails it.

  Excellent view and fantastic greek food from restaurant. The room was clean and comfortable. Very greek vibe with fantastic family. We had a really great time, thank you for everything! Apartments were very close to center, but we recommend renting car or scooter to get to beach.

  Spacious room. Bedroom is separated and far from the A/C, so it does not blow at you directly.

  Nikos is a "special guy" , also the mother and all the family. Everything was perfect, the apartment was clean and spacious, the position very strategic.

  Absolutely everything. The family Tasos, Tsambika, Nico and Stam are amazing. Erisa provided great service, always with a smile. The view from the restaurant is fantastic. Meals where first class and it was so clean and comfortable!

  A charming house with a restaurant. Very friendly owners. Quiet location, right in the center of Afandou, but without the bustle. Perfect for someone who wants to rest, eat well and have a good evening. There is a school and a playground next door, but I didn't notice anything that bothered me. Calm in the evening. I recommend!
