Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Sea Breeze Stegna – honestly, I’d never even heard of Stegna until I started digging around for quieter spots on Rhodes that weren’t completely overrun with tourists. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It sits right in this little coastal village that feels like what the Greek islands probably looked like thirty years ago, before everyone discovered them. The hotel itself has that clean, modern Greek aesthetic without being sterile – you can actually hear the waves from most of the rooms, which sounds cliché but it’s genuinely nice when you’re trying to fall asleep.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know the area, not just the resort bubble stuff. The front desk guy (I think his name was Nikos?) told me about this tiny taverna down the beach where the fishermen eat – no English menu, just whatever they caught that morning. That’s the kind of intel you can’t get from a chain hotel. The rooms are solid too, nothing fancy but everything works and the air conditioning actually keeps up with the summer heat, which honestly isn’t a given in Greece. I mean, the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty if you’re trying to upload photos, but who cares when you’re literally steps from one of the less crowded beaches on the island? Stegna Beach itself is this gorgeous stretch of sand and pebbles that somehow stays relatively peaceful even in August – probably because it takes a bit more effort to get here than just hopping off a cruise ship in Rhodes Town.

The location is actually perfect if you want to explore but also decompress. You’re about a twenty-minute drive from Lindos (skip the tour buses and go early morning or late afternoon), and honestly, having a car makes everything better here. There’s parking right at the hotel, which might sound boring but try finding a spot in Lindos during peak season and you’ll appreciate it. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be some luxury resort with infinity pools and butler service, but it nails the fundamentals really well. Good beds, clean bathrooms, friendly people who seem genuinely happy to help, and that unbeatable location where you can walk to dinner and swim before breakfast. I’ve stayed at fancier places that felt way more stressful than this. Sometimes you just want a comfortable base where you can store your stuff, charge your phone, and not worry about anything else – and Sea Breeze Stegna delivers exactly that, with the bonus of being in one of those spots that still feels authentically Greek.

Excellent communication with hosts George and Jenny who were very friendly.
The outside sitting areas exceeded our expectations with fantastic sunrises from the upstairs terrace.
We loved the traditional Greek theme of the house both internally and externally.
Lovely quiet area in walking distance of the beach and restaurants. Easy parking in front of the house.
Would highly recommend this house for a relaxing stress free holiday.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Susannah from United Kingdom – 7 May 2023 (9/10)

    Terraces were lovely

What could be improved: Lighting -softer bulbs and reading lights

  • Tomasz from Poland – 31 August 2022 (10/10)

The hosts are very friendly, they were kind enough to pick us up from the bus station in Archangelos and drive us to Stegna – it is too far to walk especially with luggage. They also let us stay a little bit longer on departure day and drove us off back to Archangelos, to catch the bus to Rhodes city.
Upon arrival we received a welcoming gift – a bottle of water and some cookies.
The house itself is a very cosy place, the terrace is fantastic covered with vine.
The location is great, Stegna is a family holiday resort, not like loud areas of Faliraki or even Tsambika. It is a perfect place for families searching for peace and quiet.

What could be improved: None, really. Everything seemed to be great.

  • Atul from Germany – 27 August 2022 (10/10)

We really liked Sea Beeeze. It’s not an apartment, it’s a small cozy house with private parking, terrace, etc. Lovely to stay there. George is an excellent owner. He is there to help:) The grapes at Sea Breeze are sweet, like our stay at Stegna. We are with kids and we felt like home.

Location is perfect. Try and you will thank me😅

What could be improved: Just a minor thing, dark Rollos on windows at stairs would be better to make room dark for sleep.

  • Piotr from Poland – 4 August 2022 (10/10)

We loved all the facilities and the overall local atmosphere of the location. It is not right next to the beach, which we found as an advantage – it is not busy and it takes literally three minutes by a walk to get to the sea. Jane and George are fantastic hosts and we wish we had more time to get know them more.

What could be improved: We recommend to consider replacing the pictures and the description. This is in fact an entire house, with two levels, two terraces, additional outdoor shower and many more. Another plus would be any kind of a shadow to hide the car 🙂

This was our 'Mama Mia' cottage – a traditionally decorated stone cottage on the outside, refurbished with modern amenities on the inside. We were a family of four adults, and although the property was not large, it accommodated us all comfortably. The upstairs bedroom had a large balcony with sea and mountain views, and could be accessed directly via outside stairs, as well as internal ones. The downstairs space was open plan with a sizeable kitchen/living area adjacent to the second sleeping area.. The bathroom was on the lower landing, downstairs from the upper bedroom. The main outside space was a lovely terrace, ideal for al fresco dining, with a second gas cooker and barbecue/pizza oven – everything was provided! There was also an outside shower (which we used every day to cool down on return from the beach or travels further afield). Additionally, there was also a garden area, somewhat under-utilised. Contact with George, our host, was easy by text, and although our needs were few, he was always available to offer assistance. The house was located in a quiet rural area just behind the main seafront, with ample private parking , and a short walk from the beach and restaurants. All in all the perfect place to stay in a resort which was (unlike other parts of Rhodes) not overcrowded, but blessed with numerous good tavernas and bars etc. – and an excellent beach for swimming and snorkelling. Would definitely recommend.

What could be improved: A privacy curtain between the downstairs living area and stairwell where the bathroom was located would be useful when both bedrooms were being used. The internal stairs to access the upper bedroom were perhaps a little steep and narrow – but not a problem for us or, I imagine, most people.

  • Monica from Czech Republic – 15 July 2022 (10/10)

George and Jenney were the perfect hosts, kind and welcoming. They have done their best to accommodate our check-in and check-out needs. The house has two floors, with nice balcony and sitting area (covered with wine trees). The house is beautifully decorated, the beds are comfortable, the wifi is good and has a well-equiped kitchen and outdoor barbecue. The Stegna beach has character and it is only a few minutes walk from the house. The parking space in front of the house comes in very handy. There are many nice restaurants near to the house. Overall it is a great place to stay in Rhodes, Greece for a family with kids, and we would definitely stay in this house if we return to Rhodes!!
