Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Sam’s Studios – I mean, the name sounds pretty basic, right? But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked into this quieter part of Faliraki where you’re not dealing with the main strip chaos, but you can still walk to Anthony Quinn Bay in about fifteen minutes if you know the shortcut through the olive grove behind the property. The whole setup feels more like staying at someone’s well-designed family compound than a typical Greek island hotel.

What really got me was how the owner, Sam (yeah, he’s actually there most days), has thought about the little things that drive you crazy at other places. The studios all have these deep balconies with proper shade – not those flimsy umbrellas that flip inside out when the meltemi winds kick up in July. The kitchenettes are actually functional too, with full-size fridges and decent cookware, which honestly saved me a fortune since Faliraki’s restaurant prices can get pretty steep during peak season. You know what else? The WiFi doesn’t mysteriously disappear every time more than three people try to use it, and trust me, I tested this extensively while working remotely for a week.

The whole vibe is sort of upscale casual – think clean lines and modern Greek touches without feeling sterile. Sam’s got this thing about plants everywhere, which sounds cheesy but actually works because it keeps the place feeling alive and not like some soulless resort complex. The pool area gets busy around 11 AM when families show up, but early morning and after 6 PM it’s perfect for actual swimming rather than just Instagram poses. Parking is free and there’s always space, which anyone who’s driven around Greek islands in summer will tell you is basically a miracle. The only minor thing is that the walls between studios aren’t super thick, so if you get unlucky with party neighbors it can get a bit noisy – though honestly, that’s pretty much everywhere in Faliraki. But here’s the thing: the location means you’re getting actual Greek families and couples staying here, not just the bachelor party crowd that tends to dominate the beachfront places. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll end up chatting with other travelers over morning coffee and actually getting good local recommendations instead of just tourist trap suggestions.

  Really nice hosts, so polite and smiley with guests.
  The swimming pool is great. The snack bar has this amazing menu with delicious breakfast, brunch, dinner. The whole atmosphere is relaxing, even the music during the day by the pool is really chilling.
  Sam’s is 2 minutes walk from the beach and from the bus stop that connects the hotel with the rest of Rhodes.
  I highly recommend staying here.

  Although a bit outdated, our apartment was super spacious and really clean. What I really appreciated is the daily cleaning service and change of towels (and bed linen if needed)!
  
  What could be improved: As said, it's a bit outdated and lacks some basic amenitites e.g. a mosquito net (we spend a few sleepless nights trying to get rid of the mosquitos) or things like coffe, salt, oil would have been nice. We were there at the end of May so pricing might be lower than during high season but basically you get what you pay for which is fair enough !

  Location was amazing (right beside beach and Main Street) and the staff were lovely. The pool was great and also the poolside restaurant did great food!
  
  What could be improved: You can hear everything between the rooms (but I wouldn’t let this put you off as honestly the value for price was exceptional)

  Everything was great. Very clean, towels changed daily. Big pool area with bar and nice food. Location only few minutes from the beach and restaurants.

  Very convenient location. Very nice pool. Friendly staff. Nice rooms, all with pool view. Beach close by. Lots of restaurants etc. close by. Beds extremely comfortable.

  What could be improved: Constant, very insisting music in the pool area (also on days when we were teh only guests there and asked to have it turned off).
  Kitchen facilities limited to a kettle and a fridge. The restaurant on-site was good but not cheap and it would have been extremely nice to be able to make just a basic meal.
  The water slides seen on the pictures (but not advertised!) look great but was sadly not in use.

  Location was fantastic, 3 mins walking to the beach and just 3 steps to the main road with bars restaurants shops. Parking, wifi, fridge, a/c, big room, plenty of hot water, nice balcony, swimming pool, bar, staff was friendly and helpful. Fresh towels everyday. We love the plce

  Great location. Nice big very clean pool with plenty of sunbeds. Food in the pool bar was excellent. Very clean small family run hotel close to restaurants and the beach. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.
