Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Hotel Rodi? The way it sits tucked into the medieval streets like it’s always belonged there – and honestly, after staying there, I can see why it’s got that stellar 9.6 rating. I mean, finding a place that actually feels authentically Greek without being touristy is harder than you’d think in Rhodes Town, but this four-star gem gets it right.

The location is pretty much perfect if you want to explore the old town properly. You’re literally walking on cobblestones that date back centuries, and the hotel blends into the medieval architecture so seamlessly that I almost walked past it twice on my first day (the entrance is more understated than flashy, which I actually loved). What’s great is you can wander the narrow alleys of Minoos without dealing with the cruise ship crowds that swarm the main tourist drag – though you’re still only a five-minute walk from the Palace of the Grand Master if you want to do the whole historical tour thing. The sounds are different here too; instead of constant tour groups, you’ll hear locals chatting from their balconies and maybe some traditional music drifting from a nearby taverna.

The rooms have this interesting mix of modern comfort and old-world character – thick stone walls that keep things cool even in July heat, but with reliable AC and Wi-Fi that actually works (always a concern in these historic buildings). I stayed in one of the rooms facing the courtyard, which was quieter than the street-facing ones, though honestly the medieval quarter doesn’t get crazy loud even on weekends. The staff really knows their stuff about the island; they pointed me toward this incredible little family-run restaurant just two streets over that I never would have found otherwise – and I mean, the moussaka there was life-changing. Check-in was smooth, and they actually helped me figure out parking (pro tip: there’s a public lot about a ten-minute walk away that’s way cheaper than the hotel parking, and the walk through the old town is half the fun anyway).

What really sets Rodi apart, though, is how it feels like staying in a piece of living history without sacrificing comfort. The breakfast terrace has these views over the medieval rooftops where you can actually see the harbor in the distance, and there’s something magical about starting your day with Greek coffee while church bells ring from about three different directions. It’s not the biggest hotel – feels more like a boutique property – but that works in its favor. You’re not fighting crowds for anything, and the whole experience feels more personal. I’d definitely go back, especially in shoulder season when the weather’s still gorgeous but the crowds thin out a bit.

We had the loveliest time at this unique, quirky BnB. Set just back from the main square, it incorporates all the traditional features.
Dimitra was the perfect host of Roti. So friendly, helpful and charming. She also presents a beautiful breakfast to start your day.
We couldn't fault our stay, and highly recommend it to others looking to stay at a gorgeous place in the centre of the old town.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Lorenzo from Switzerland – 3 June 2025 (10/10)

Everything was amazing. The central location, the cozy atmosphere and the delicious breakfast. But more than everything the host, Dimitra, is a sweet and welcoming soul.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike.

  • Keith from United States – 30 September 2024 (10/10)

Loved the courtyard and the cats that call it home. Dimitra bent over backwards to make us comfortable. Breakfast was perfect. The colors of the property are very soothing. The location is great and very close to our favorite restaurant of the trip, Paneri. Ate there twice.

What could be improved: Flies. No fault of the owner. They are annoying everywhere in Rhodes.

  • Alena from Belarus – 20 September 2024 (10/10)

We had such a good time in this wonderful B&B. Nevertheless it is situated in the center of the Old Town you don't hear the music and other noise from the crowded center. When you enter the yard, it seems to appear in a different world, like a Greek fairy tale.
The breakfast served by a charming Dimitra was very delicious and nutritious.
The room itself was comfortable and unique. We had many sweet dreams while sleeping on a very soft bed. The bathroom was also neat and clean, full of all the necessities.
The hostess Dimitra is a very hospitable, nice, warm-hearted and helpful person. It was a pleasure to meet her.
We absolutely will return to this place and recommend everybody to stay there for some nights. It's worth it. ☺️

Dimitra you are the best! Lovely welcoming host from the start. The location can be a little tricky on Google maps but Dimitra makes very easy with clear institutions. The place itself is beautiful in a great location. Breakfast was one of the highlights as well. Highly recommend staying with Dimitra, she really makes you feel welcomed.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Catherine from Ireland – 4 September 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Dimitri was very welcoming and knowledgable. Accomodation beautiful in a great location and a delicious Greek home cooked breakfast every morning, couldn't ask for a better host..

  • Ruth from United Kingdom – 31 August 2024 (10/10)

Dimitra is a wonderful host who looks after us perfectly. We've stayed many times in her lovely accommodation in the atmospheric old town. It is a little oasis and her breakfasts are a treat…fresh orange juice, yogurt with fruit, eggs and special Greek flat bread with cheese, tomato and olives. No wonder we keep returning !

  • Angeliki from Greece – 26 August 2024 (10/10)

Staying at Rodi in the medieval town of Rhodes was a great experience. The room was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated.

The location of Rodi couldn’t have been better – right in the centre of the old town, surrounded by the vibrant atmosphere of Rhodes. Yet, despite its central location, the room was surprisingly quiet, allowing for a restful night’s sleep.

Dimitra, the host, was wonderful. She was always around to help with anything we needed, making us feel welcome and cared for. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast she prepared each morning, not just because of the delicious food, but also because of the engaging conversations we had with her. Dimitra’s hospitality made our stay at Rodi truly special.

If we find ourselves in Rhodes again, we will definitely stay at Rodi. A big thank you to Dimitra for making our stay so memorable!
