Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along Rhodes’ east coast, but RLM Prime Beach Panoramic Villa in Kolimbia really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know how sometimes a place just clicks? This was one of those spots. The villa sits up in Trapeza area above Afantou, which honestly most people drive right past on their way to the busier beaches, but that’s exactly what makes it special. You get these sweeping views over the coastline without dealing with the crowds that pack places like Faliraki.

The first thing that hit me was how quiet it actually gets here, especially in the evenings when the day-trippers head back. I mean, you’re still close enough to Kolimbia’s main strip – maybe a ten-minute walk down the hill – but far enough up that you’re not hearing scooters revving at midnight. The panoramic part of the name isn’t just marketing fluff either; from the terrace, you can see clear across to the Turkish coast on a good day, and the sunrises are honestly ridiculous (though you’ll need to be an early riser to catch them properly). The rooms themselves feel more like someone’s well-appointed vacation home than a typical hotel setup, which I appreciated. There’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get at four-star properties – proper blackout curtains that actually work, decent water pressure in the shower, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing.

What really sold me on this place was the location’s sweet spot between convenience and tranquility. Kolimbia beach is right there when you want that postcard-perfect sand and those famous eucalyptus trees, but you’re also perfectly positioned for day trips – the Valley of the Butterflies is maybe twenty minutes by car, and you can hit Lindos in about half an hour if you avoid the midday rush. The staff genuinely knows the area too, not just the tourist highlights. They pointed me toward this little taverna in Afantou village that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it was better than most of the places charging double in Rhodes Town. Parking’s never an issue up here either, which anyone who’s circled Old Town looking for a spot will appreciate. If I’m being completely honest, the only downside is that you’ll probably want a car or scooter to make the most of it – while the beach is walkable, everything else requires a bit of planning. But that’s a small trade-off for waking up to those views and having a genuine base to explore this part of the island properly.

  The villa was truly impressive, with beautiful outdoor spaces and excellent amenities. There were plenty of bedrooms and beds, ensuring that all 13 of us were extremely comfortable. The large pool and spacious outdoor area were perfect for relaxing, and the home itself was generously sized, giving everyone plenty of room to enjoy.
  
  What could be improved: There were a few issues during our stay at the villa:
  
  – There were quite a few hornets on the grass, though they didn’t cause any harm.
  – The house could use a bit more care. Some items were missing, and there was minor damage in certain areas.
  – The water pressure was very low, making it difficult to shower at times.
  – The electric blinds in the master bedroom were not working, so the room was quite bright at night.
  – There were no mirrors in the bedrooms.
  – The supply of shampoo was insufficient for the number of guests and the length of our stay, and towels weren’t restocked.
  – The oven was quite weak and didn’t function well.
  
  Overall, the villa has potential, but these issues did impact our experience.

  הוילה היתה יפיפייה, מרווחת ונקיה מאוד, עם כל מה שצריך לחופשה משפחתית נהדרת, מאובזרת במטבח מתקדם, וכלי בישול והגשה יפיפיים.
  הצוות המתפעל היה נהדר, בעל הבית (ואשתו) היו נהדרים ומקסימים ועזרו כמה שיכלו בכל דבר.
  הנוף יפייפה, יש בריכה גדולה, ומדשאות, מגרש כדורסל מהמם, ושולחן פינג פונג חדש!
  
  What could be improved: זרם המים במקלחות היה לא יציב (נאמר לנו שזה בגלל עבודות באזור), לקבוצות גדולות מומלץ לתזמן מקלחות כדי שלא תתקעו בלי מים פתאם, זה היה קצת לא נח, אבל לא פגע בחוויה הכללית בוילה
