Hotel Description

Honestly, when I first walked up to Rhodos Horizon Blu on Valaoritou Street, I wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked into this narrow street in the old town where you can barely squeeze a taxi through. But you know what? That turned out to be exactly what made it special. You’re literally two minutes from the medieval walls and all that tourist chaos, but once you step inside, it’s like someone hit the mute button on Rhodes Town.

The adults-only thing isn’t just marketing speak here – they actually mean it, and it shows. The pool area has this calm vibe where people are reading actual books instead of chasing kids around (not that there’s anything wrong with kids, but sometimes you just want to drink your coffee in peace, you know?). The rooms are what I’d call “thoughtfully updated” – they’ve kept some of the traditional Greek character but added things that actually matter, like proper air conditioning and bathrooms where you don’t have to shower sitting down. I mean, it’s a 4-star place, so don’t expect marble everything, but the beds are comfortable and the balconies… well, if you get one facing the right direction, you’ll catch glimpses of the harbor between the buildings.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to know Rhodes inside and out. The guy at reception – I think his name was Dimitri – didn’t just give me the usual tourist map routine. He actually walked me outside and pointed down toward Sokratous Street, explaining which tavernas the locals go to versus the obvious tourist traps (there’s a difference, trust me). The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore the old town properly. You can walk to the Palace of the Grand Masters without breaking a sweat, but you’re also close enough to the newer part of town if you want better shopping or that big supermarket near Mandraki Harbor. Parking is… well, it’s Greece, so park wherever you can find a spot and walk. The hotel doesn’t have its own lot, but that’s pretty standard for anything inside the old town walls. One small thing – the street can get a bit noisy in the early morning when the delivery trucks come through, but it’s not terrible and honestly, you’ll probably be up early anyway because the light here is incredible. I’d definitely stay here again, especially in shoulder season when Rhodes isn’t completely overrun with cruise ship crowds.

  • Serkan from Turkey – 12 October 2024 (9/10)

The receptionist who greeted me was very attentive; her name might have been Anastasia (she was blonde, but I’m not sure if there was another female receptionist). She immediately offered me coffee and gave me the room around 11 a.m. My colleagues working at the hotel’s bar, upon realizing I was in the tourism industry, offered me drinks in the evening. The maid or housekeeping supervisor who cleaned the room was also very attentive. Thank you!

  • Anita from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (9/10)

    Beautiful rooms lovely sea view

What could be improved: Am unsure about the frosted glass bathroom doors and bright lights when visiting the bathroom during the night they could do with a night light in there as you end up disturbing the other person in the room-doesn’t feel very private with the frosted glass door and the shower is good but small cubicle

  • Theodora from United Kingdom – 11 September 2024 (7/10)

  • Andrea from Austria – 29 April 2024 (9/10)

Great hotel, very clean, friendly staff, nice sea views while having breakfast and from balcony! Its the sunset part of island so every day sunset 🙂 I loved my stay!

What could be improved: You have to pay for gym 5€ and for sauna €10 per hour. The beds were a bit too soft for my style but apart from this I really like the hotel 🙂

  • Savannah from United Kingdom – 8 November 2022 (7/10)

close to the sea and airport bus stop. Clean and modern
