So Rhodes Sea Villas – honestly, this place caught me off guard in the best way possible. I mean, when you first pull up to Kirvias in Ixia, you’re not expecting much because it’s sort of tucked away from the main strip, but that’s actually what makes it brilliant. The whole complex sits on this gentle slope overlooking the Aegean, and you know what? The drive down that narrow coastal road is worth it just for the views alone.

The villas themselves have this understated Greek elegance that doesn’t try too hard – white stone, blue shutters, terraces that actually face the water (not the parking lot like some places). What really got me was how quiet it stays, even during peak season. You’re close enough to walk to Ixia Beach – maybe ten minutes if you take your time – but far enough from the resort chaos that you can actually hear the waves at night. The rooms are spacious, properly spacious, not just “European spacious” if you know what I mean. Each villa has its own little terrace, and the kitchenettes are functional enough that we actually used them, which says something because hotel kitchens are usually just for show.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t really capture – you’re positioned perfectly between Rhodes Town and the west coast beaches, but without being stuck in tourist central. The local bus runs right past the property (though honestly, rent a scooter if you can), and there’s this family-run taverna about five minutes down the road where the locals actually eat. The staff at the villas will point you toward it if you ask, which tells you everything about how they operate – they’re not trying to keep you captive for every meal and drink. Parking is easy and free, check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the property. The pool area gets gorgeous afternoon light, and while it’s not Olympic-sized or anything, it’s perfectly adequate for cooling off after a day exploring. My only minor gripe? The hot water takes a minute to kick in – not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. The cleaning service is thorough but not intrusive, and they actually know how to make a bed properly, which you’d be surprised how rare that’s becoming. What sealed it for me was sitting on our terrace that first evening with a bottle of local wine, watching the sunset paint the water all these impossible shades of orange and pink, and realizing we’d stumbled onto something special. It’s the kind of place where you extend your stay if you can swing it.

  The host was very helpful and polite. The house was near Rhodes town, in a calm, peaceful location by the Sea. The two-story house had all the kitchen needs, and although the pool was covered for the season (a bit chilly), we overlooked the mountains of Turkey (gorgeous).

  The villa was immaculately clean and felt like brand new. I'd say it's larger than it looks in the photos and could accommodate 3 couples with ease. The host was very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Surroundings look a bit run-down at the first glance but it's actually fine once you spend a little bit of time. Wifi was also great which is very rare for large accommodations. Worth mentioning that it was great value at the time we stayed!
  
  What could be improved: Nothing really. Rhodes itself was mega quiet but this has nothing to do with the accommodation, all about the dates at which we were there.

  Situated in a quiet area, the property is modern and clean and is positioned 50mts from a pebble beach via an open garden. No issues at all with trespassers etc.
  There are two villas, side by side each with their own pool.
  Our villas kitchen was well equipped with good quality electrical equipment including dishwasher. The villa also had free air con throughout.
  There are three double bedrooms one with en-suite facilities.
  Areas for shade or sun is available throughout the day.
  The owner, Pantelis, was very friendly and helpful, meeting us on arrival and on our return, only a text message away.
  Bars and restaurants are within 100mts away.
  I can especially recommend Pitta-fan for fresh Greek food and gyros kebabs. Phillips bar is also good for tv sports and snacks.
  A Spar supermarket is 150ms away, good for all essentials.
  In all we had a great two weeks stay and would highly recommend these villas.
  
  What could be improved: On first impression parts off the area appears to be run down and derelict, but it doesn’t detract from the villas. Many locals still live nearby.
