You know what struck me first about Princess Sun Hotel? It’s actually got character, which honestly surprised me for a four-star place on Kiotari’s main drag. I mean, Main Street can get pretty touristy – you’ve got your usual souvenir shops and tavernas competing for attention – but the Princess Sun sits back just enough that you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic noise, yet you can still walk to everything.

The thing about Kiotari is that it’s sort of caught between being a sleepy fishing village and a proper resort destination, and this hotel gets that balance right. The lobby has this Mediterranean warmth without trying too hard – think whitewashed walls and local pottery rather than generic hotel art. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (I’ve had some experiences in Greece where… well, let’s just say island time is real), and the staff actually seemed to know the area. Like, when I asked about the best beach access, the guy at reception didn’t just point toward the water – he told me about the little path behind the old church that locals use, which cuts five minutes off the walk and avoids the crowded main beach entrance.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathroom pressure (always a concern), and most importantly, the AC actually works. Mine faced the courtyard rather than the street, which meant I could sleep with the balcony door open and just hear the distant sound of waves instead of late-night revelers stumbling back from the bars. There’s parking on-site, which might not sound exciting but trust me, during peak season in Rhodes, you’ll appreciate not having to hunt for a spot every time you want to explore the island. The pool area gets busy mid-afternoon when everyone’s taking a break from the beach, but mornings and evenings it’s pretty peaceful – perfect for reading with a Greek coffee.

What really sold me on this place was the little details that show someone’s paying attention. Fresh towels by the pool without having to ask, local honey at breakfast instead of those generic packets, and – this might sound small – but the WiFi actually reaches the pool area. I’ve stayed at places with higher ratings where you’re basically cut off from the world the moment you step outside. The breakfast spread is honestly better than it needs to be, with local cheeses and olives that don’t taste like they came from a wholesale supplier. During olive season, they even had fresh oil from somewhere nearby – the kind of touch that makes you remember a place.

Look, Princess Sun isn’t going to blow your mind or end up in any luxury travel magazines, but that 8.6 rating feels about right. It’s the kind of hotel where everything just works, the location gives you options without overwhelming you, and you’ll actually want to come back. If you’re looking for Instagram-perfect infinity pools and marble everything, keep looking. But if you want a comfortable base for exploring Rhodes with people who clearly care about doing hospitality right, you could do a lot worse than this spot in Kiotari.

  Very nice all inclusive hotel .the facilities was nice , the room is comfortble and the staff were great .

  The stuff was very friendly and tried its best all around to help and provide good service.
  The entertainment team were amazing. Kind and fun and created such a good vibe both for adult and for the kids.
  The kids club and the girls there just were remarkable and the group in general, they remember all the kids names and smile and wave every time they see them around the hotel like they were old friends, make them feel included and important regardless if they speak English or not. GOOD JOB!
  It is important to note I think it's a family hotel and less for couples, but it is not load, and you can have a relaxing experience.
  
  What could be improved: I think the cleaning in the snack bar can be better, specifically in the line to get drinks.
  Also, the wine selection for the all-inclusive option
  
  We didn't like the photographer that took our pictures and only later told us it is extra payment we came for the all-inclusive experience, and we didn't expect it extra cost for something that is being offered to us in the hotel lobby 40 euro for 3 pictures it not OK.
  
  Please consider putting AC in the auditorium as it is really hot after a few minutes
  
  It is really hot outside when you are waiting for the beach carrier to come and take you to the beach, and sometimes it takes 20 minutes + of waiting it is not fun with small children

  We enjoyed the buffet and all the inclusive foods and drinks, highlighting the slushys and ice cream! The beach was excellent with the transport from hotel every 30 minutes! Rooms were excellent and cleaning was superb! The staff was delightful and helped us with everything, lovely People all around!
  
  What could be improved: No coctails on the beach, just beer and wine. (Pool bar had all the cocktails)

  We stayed with our 2 year old daughter in the hotel for a few days. The room we were allocated was spacious and had a small open partition at the top that separated our baby's bed from ours which allowed us to watch TV when she was already asleep without disturbing her but being able to hear her at all times. Everything was very clean.
  The staff were very friendly and made our stay very pleasant, especially the entertainment staff who made our daughter have a great time, during the night we enjoyed the mini disco and different shows every night.
  The pools are well-maintained and clean and there are plenty of sunbeds.
  The hotel is located on a hill, with nice views from the dining room and a free shuttle service is available. We had a car and didn't go to Kiotari but we visited Glystra Beach which is a 5 minutes drive from the hotel and is a fine sandy beach ideal for children.
  
  What could be improved: The food was good but could have been more varied. Still, there were quite a few different options.

  Location is nice, you can get there by bus from Rhodes city. It's very quiet at night. Delicious food, especially desserts. Nice swimming pools with some slides for kids. Friendly and helpful staff. Free beach towels and sunbeds.

  Reception Desk Staff – We were first lodged in a room close to some noise source. When we reported this we were immediattly moved to an equivalent room in a different location without any noise.
  
  We were offered with a late check out in case we needed.
  
  Pools size looked to be balanced regarding the number of guests – we could use one of them without difficulty.
  
  Food offer is balanced in both dinner and breakfast.
  
  What could be improved: Short parking offer – Was only only possible to park outside the hotel limits (not a big constraint but would be nice to have more parking spaces inside).
