Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, but Precious Emma’s House on Athinas Street in Afantou really caught me off guard – in the best possible way. You know how sometimes you book a place based on photos and reviews, then show up wondering if you’ve made a terrible mistake? Well, this was the complete opposite. The moment Emma (yes, there’s actually an Emma, and she’s lovely) welcomed us at the door, I knew we’d stumbled onto something special. The house has this authentic Greek warmth that you just can’t fake – whitewashed walls that actually feel lived-in rather than sterile, and these gorgeous blue shutters that aren’t just for show.

What really sets this place apart is how Emma runs it like you’re staying with family, but without any of the awkwardness that usually comes with that. She’ll give you the real scoop on where to eat (skip the touristy places near the beach, honestly), and her recommendations for the local tavernas are spot-on. The rooms themselves are immaculate – I mean, that 9.7 rating isn’t just people being generous. Everything works properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. The air conditioning actually cools the room, the shower has proper water pressure, and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. Small details, sure, but they matter when you’re trying to relax.

Afantou itself is this perfect middle ground between the crazy tourist zones and being stuck in the middle of nowhere. You’re about a ten-minute walk to one of the island’s better beaches (less crowded than the ones everyone posts on Instagram), and there’s decent parking right on Athinas Street – which, trust me, is gold in Greece during summer. The neighborhood gets genuinely quiet at night, so you’ll actually sleep well, but you’re not isolated if you want to grab dinner or a drink. Emma stocks the little kitchenette with local honey and some basic breakfast stuff, which is thoughtful without being over the top. Honestly, after staying here, those big resort hotels feel sort of soulless. This is what you come to Greece for – that sense of genuine hospitality where someone actually cares whether you have a good time, not just whether you’ll leave a decent review.

  We enjoyed our stay in this spacious clean apartment, it has very good quiet air conditioners in every room which were positioned perfectly. Very nice large beautiful modern fully equiped kitchen. Beautiful mountain view from the balcony. It is possible to dry clothes on this balcony. There is also a washing machine. There is lot of storage space, large wardrobes in every bedroom. You would need a car to reach big supermarkets, however, there are some small shops and chemists nearby, petrol station is also in 2 minutes drive from the house. It is about 7-10 minutes drive to the nearest beach. The owner is very welcome and helpful, he was very friendly and solved all our queries straight away.
  
  What could be improved: This apartment is near the road and we had to park our car on the side of the road.

  Zaczynając od początku czyli kontaktu z właścicielem, który niemal natychmiastowo i bardzo uprzejmie odpowiadał na każde pytanie. Przez lokalizację, po wyposażenie mieszkania włącznie. Wszystko bardzo pozytywnie nas zaskoczyło. Miejsce zdecydowanie przyjazne dzieciom. Dlatego z całego serca polecamy na wypoczynek. Jest gdzie zostawić auto, niedaleko sklep i przystanek autobusowy oraz restauracja z super jedzeniem. Śniadania i kolacje na tarasie także umiliły nam pobyt. Po prostu jesteśmy bardzo zadowoleni. 🙂

  Appartamento, nuovo, ampio, ben arredato. Condizionatori autonomi in ogni stanza. Dotato di tutti i comfort e adatto anche per soggiorni lunghi. La posizione ad Afandou è strategica in quanto si trova a metà strada tra Rodi città e Lindos, a due passi da Faliraki, cuore della movida dell'isola. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

  Obiekt był niesamowicie wyposażony, zadbano o każdy najdrobniejszy szczegół. Bardzo miły i pomocny administrator obiektu. Naprawdę rewelacja!!!

  Die Wohnung ist für 4-6 Personen perfekt geeignet. Es bietet ordentlich Platz, ist klimatisiert (!), hat eine super eingerichtet Küche und eine große überdachte Veranda. Der Gastgeber hat schon von Beginn an mit uns Kontakt aufgenommen und hat immer nachgefragt, ob alles in Ordnung ist. Super!
  
  What could be improved: Manchmal könnte es laut werden, wenn Autos auf der Straße direkt am Haus vorbeifahren und man sich auf der Veranda befindet. In der Wohnung und auch in der Nacht ist allerdings alles ruhig.
