You know what hit me first about Porto Angeli? The quiet. I mean, you’re literally on Stegna Beach – one of Rhodes’ better-kept secrets on the east coast – but somehow this place manages to feel tucked away from everything. It’s not one of those massive resort complexes that dominates the shoreline. Instead, it sits there almost like it grew out of the landscape, if that makes sense.

The thing about staying here is that you’re actually in Archangelos territory, which honestly most people just drive through on their way to Lindos. But that’s exactly why it works. Stegna Beach itself is this gorgeous stretch of pebbles and sand that doesn’t get absolutely mobbed like some of the more famous spots. You can walk out of your room – and I mean literally walk, no shuttle bus nonsense – and be on the beach in maybe two minutes. The water’s that crystalline blue you see in photos but assume is filtered, except it’s actually real here. Swimming in the morning before the day-trippers arrive from Rhodes Town? Perfect.

What really sold me on the place was the attention to detail that you don’t expect. The rooms are genuinely spacious (not just “spacious for Europe”), and they’ve clearly thought about things like having enough outlets near the bed and actual water pressure in the shower. Small stuff, but it matters when you’re trying to relax. The staff – well, they actually remember your name after day one, which is refreshing. And the breakfast? Look, I’m usually a coffee-and-run person, but they do this thing with local honey and yogurt that had me lingering over meals like I had nowhere else to be.

The location is honestly ideal if you want to explore but also decompress. You’re about 15 minutes from Tsambika Beach if you want to see what all the fuss is about, and Lindos is totally doable for a day trip – though honestly, coming back to the relative peace of Stegna feels like a relief after dealing with those crowds. There’s a handful of tavernas within walking distance, including this one spot (I think it’s called Philosophia?) where the owner will absolutely talk your ear off about local wine if you let him.

I’ll be honest – it’s not cheap, and given that it’s a 5-star place, you’re paying for the polish. But the 8.8 rating feels about right. It’s not trying to be flashy or revolutionary; it’s just really, really good at being a beach hotel. The kind of place where you can spend three days and feel like you actually had a vacation instead of just a change of scenery. If you’re the type who needs constant entertainment and activity, you might get restless. But if you want to wake up, swim, eat well, maybe read a book, and not think about much else? Yeah, Porto Angeli gets it right.

  the hotel is in a very picturesque place by the sea in the mountains, we were in a room with a pool with 2 children – 9 years and 8 months. At first we were given a room with a very beautiful courtyard, view and pool, but there was no bath and it is not convenient with a baby. that same evening they prepared a room of the same level with a bath for us. The staff is very responsive, special thanks to Alexia

  The room was enormous! So comfortable for a longer stay with little lounge room area and balcony, also comfortable beds and dark for sleeping. The resort was massive – a gentleman drove us to our room on a golf buggy haha. The reception staff were so lovely and friendly and helped with anything and everything… including our sending our pillows of choice to our room for trial. There were so so many pools, bars and restaurants to choose from. The food was excellent – how they produce so much of such delicious food is beyond me. The beverages included on the all-inclusive were excellent too, bar man at the pool bar and lady at the Greek taverna were the absolute loveliest! The activities including the tennis and transfers to nearby beaches was also great.
  
  What could be improved: Couldn't really fault much as it was all so great! Only thing would be the beach chair hogging – we went down after breakfast and every single chair on both beaches had towels/belongings on them .. except over 50% were empty, and the water/beach certainly didnt have that many people swimming so its quite clear people were 'reserving' them for themselves. Unfortunately despite visiting throughout the day and afternoon, it was much the same so we didnt actually get to go to the beach during our stay. We spoke to the lovely reception ladies, and there are signs about requesting the above not occur however unfortunately people are not abiding by the resort rules. This is not their fault though so thank you Porto Angeli for a great stay :))

  What could be improved: This was a really great stay with two remarks which aren't supporting families. One is adults only breakfast in one part of hotel (which is discriminating) and the other one charging potty for toddlers (in all inclusive hotel).
