You know what strikes me first about Popi’s Place? It’s actually right where you want to be in Rhodes Town without feeling like you’re stuck in tourist central. Proedrou Kennenti is one of those streets that locals use but isn’t crazy busy with tour groups marching through at 7 AM – I mean, you’ll hear some morning chatter from the nearby cafes, but it’s more charming than annoying. The building itself sits at ground level (obviously), which honestly makes hauling luggage so much easier than those places where you’re climbing three flights of narrow stone stairs.

The thing about staying here is that Popi clearly gets how travelers actually behave. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually find in four-star places – like, everything works properly (the AC doesn’t sound like a dying helicopter, thank god), but there’s also this attention to small stuff that matters. Good lighting by the bed for reading, enough outlets for your devices, and the kind of shower pressure that makes you want to stay in there forever after walking around the medieval town all day. The location really shines when you realize you can walk to the Palace of the Grand Master in about eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to that little grocery store on Amerikis Street where locals actually shop. That’s clutch if you want to grab some Greek yogurt and honey for breakfast instead of paying hotel prices.

What really sold me on this place – and why that 9.5 rating makes total sense – is how Popi treats the whole experience. Check-in felt like visiting someone who actually cares about Rhodes and wants you to love it too, not just process you through the system. She’ll tell you which tavernas the locals hit up (hint: not the ones right by the harbor), and honestly, her recommendations for timing your visits to avoid crowds were spot-on. The area gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which is perfect if you’re the type who wants to explore during the day but actually sleep at night. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is closer to the main tourist drag – there’s usually street parking within a block or two, and Popi knows all the tricks for where to look. If you’re coming during summer, book early because word’s getting out about places like this that offer real value without the tourist trap markup.

  Very spacious 2bed apartment with a terrace on the ground floor. The building looks old, but the apartment was renovated. The beds were a bit too hard but overall comfortable. It has everything you need, from kitchenware to iron/ironing board and cleaning products. They also provide insect repellent products. Great location, 15-20 mins walk from the old town, 15 mins walk from the acropolis and 5-10 mins walk from the beach. We found out there's a view point over the sea and the island where we could watch the sunset just a few mins walk from the property! The area is quiet and there's a bar and supermarket nearby.

  Very clean, good location, about 10 minutes walk from the town centre and many historical places such as the acropolis and the Palace of the grand master of the knights of Rhodes.

  Great quiet location, within tolerable walking distance to the old town. There is a delicious bakery and a sufficient-sized grocery store nearby. Great neighbours! Parking a rental car on the street was convenient, and we always found a parking space. WiFi was quick enough and worked well. Also, the air-conditioner was sufficient enough.
  Do not forget to feed the cats, who will give you a warm welcome daily 🙂
  
  What could be improved: Adding a dishwasher to the kitchen would be a big plus in the future 🙂

  Meget fin og velholdt leilighet, med grei terasse som lå i skygge på ettermiddag/kveld. Fint å sitte med noe kaldt i glasset etter en dag på stranden.

  Der Informationsfluss zur Wohnung von Eigentümer war hervorragend. Vor und während des Aufenhaltes, die Lage der Wohnung ist absolut Top kurze Wege zum Stadtkern. Wenn man Frühstücken gehen möchte gibt es in der Nähe Möglichkeiten ab 8.00 Uhr geöffnet. Dort gibt es auch einen Kinderspielplatz der Intregiert ist, man kann auch Abends noch ein Getränk zu sich nehmen.

  Labai jaukūs, tvarkingi ir erdvūs apartamentai. Virtuvėje – viskas, ko gali prireikti, daug įvairių priemonių maisto gaminimui. Atvykus šaldytuve radome du butelius vandens – karštą dieną tai buvo tikras išsigelbėjimas 🙂

  Ruim, schoon, heel centraal, alle voorzieningen en een ruime keuken. Gezellig appartement op een toplocatie. Alles was op loopafstand, dichtbij het oude centrum en nieuwe centrum, het strand en de haven.
