The rating here sits at a very solid 9.3, which for a smaller property like this is genuinely impressive and not the kind of number that happens by accident.

Location & Surroundings

The location is one of the real selling points, rated 8.8 by recent guests — and couples in particular seem to love it, giving it a 9.0 for a two-person trip. I mean, it’s easy to see why. Gennadi has that long, pebbly beach that stretches on forever without getting crowded, and the village itself has a handful of tavernas where you can sit outside and eat grilled fish while the sun goes down. It’s not a party destination, which is kind of the whole point.

The Property

Petra Villas has a villa-style setup rather than a traditional hotel feel, which makes a real difference to how your stay actually feels day to day. There’s free private parking on site, which sounds like a small thing until you’ve spent twenty minutes circling a Greek village looking for a spot. The villas give you a sense of space and independence — you’re not bumping into strangers in a corridor or waiting for a lift, and that matters more than people expect when they’re trying to properly unwind.

Activities & the Outdoors

If you’re someone who needs to keep moving, this part of Rhodes delivers. Windsurfing is genuinely popular along this stretch of coast — the conditions are well-suited for it, especially in the afternoons when the wind picks up. Hiking is another good option, with some decent trails in the surrounding area that take you through the kind of dry, scrubby landscape that feels very authentically Greek. Fishing is also on the list, and honestly, even if you’re not a serious angler, there’s something quite meditative about it down here.

  Highly recommended! The location of the villa was exceptional with views over the ocean from the back and views over the mountains to the rear. The village of Gennadi was only a 2 minute drive away and you can walk down to the local beach in 5 minutes from the villa. The pool was much welcomed after a day adventuring around the island with the children and the villa has everything you need to make your stay nice and easy! Towels for the pool, the bathroom, lots of seating around the pool, barbecue, etc. John came to meet us at the villa on arrival and talked us through everything and gave us some great ideas for things to do. He was on hand on his mobile the whole time! We even got left some beautiful fruit and eggs from his parents property.

  Everything was great. The villa was spotless/clean.
  Anything that was missing was immediately provided by John.
  Great to have a clothes washer
  
  What could be improved: No real complaints!!
  A few kitchen “essentials” were missing or in short supply. But anything we asked for was supplied immediately by John.
  There are two neighbouring villas. Their occupants were always fine.
  The price is high, but it’s “market rate”

  Very nice villa with beautiful seaview from the balcony. The owner was responsive to all our requests. Beach within 3 min walk. A wonderful place for a quiet vacation away from the crowds.
  
  What could be improved: The lack of a shower curtain in the downstairs bathroom makes the whole bathroom wet.

  The location of the villa was perfect, views over the see and a great green landscape, the village of Gennadi was only 2 minute by car, and the beach is located in front of the villa, only 2 minutes by walk. At our arrival John was there to welcome us with some fruits from his yard.
  At the villa we found everything we need. The pool was big and clean.
  Thanks John for our lovely stay, we will definitely be back.

  Our stay at the Petras Villa was very nice. The neighbors and John were very nice and always helpful. a beautiful clean pool, a very fantastic accommodation. The sea was 100 meters (2 minutes walk) from and away. The accommodation is very good in terms of price/performance ratio. 1000€ for 5 days in a villa that has everything to offer. the view was outstanding. We had the best 5 days of our lives there and will definitely come back next year. Thank you for your hospitality John!

  The villa is beautiful, has a lovely large pool, barbecue and lots of sun lounges. There is a seating area outside too which we enjoyed having breakfast and dinner at. There are two very spacious and clean bedrooms and a large sofa bed downstairs. The kitchen has everything you would need and the bathrooms were great too. Overall, the villa is absolutely beautiful and we would definitely recommend
  
  The beach is a one minute walk and it is useful to have a car to drive to the nearby shops and restaurants however it is possible to walk (15-20 minutes)
  
  The location of the villa is perfect if you enjoy a quiet holiday and lots of site-seeing to do- Lindos, one of the bigger towns is a 25 minute drive which has lots of site-seeing and restaurants.
  
  The owner of the villa was very helpful, anything we required he was there straight away and he was very good to talk to. He would supply fresh bedding, and we knew if we had any issues he would resolve them.

  John, the owner welcomes us when we arrived, and explain us about the kitchen facilities, the pool, air conditions, TV ec.
  The Kitchen facilities were extended than usual. Check out was easy too. The villa was maintain on a good manner. It was very pleasurer to have the first coffee near the pool when the sun is raising up!
  
  What could be improved: The garden lights were probably on automatic mode and needs to be tune pending monthly base cause the pass way from the parking drive to the villa was almost dark after 18.00.
