Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Rhodes, but Petra Residences in Lindos is honestly something else. When you’re driving down that main road from Rhodes town – you know, the one that winds through all those little villages – you almost miss the entrance because it doesn’t scream “hotel” at you. It’s more like discovering someone’s really well-kept secret.

The thing about this place is that it actually gets Lindos right, if that makes sense. Most hotels either stick you right in the middle of the tourist chaos or way out where you need a rental car for everything. Petra Residences found this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the village (maybe 10 minutes on foot), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds stumbling past your window at midnight. The rooms themselves – well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star, but there’s this attention to detail that surprised me. The stone work isn’t just decorative; it actually keeps things cool during those brutal July afternoons when the temperature hits 40 degrees. And honestly, the bathrooms are better than some 5-star places I’ve been to in Athens.

What really sold me though was the staff’s local knowledge. The guy at reception – I think his name was Dimitris – didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map. He actually drew on it, showing me which path up to the Acropolis has the least crowds around 8 AM, and which tavernas down in the village are where the locals actually eat (hint: it’s not the ones with the English menus). You know what’s funny? The place has this 9.8 rating, and after spending four nights there, I actually get it. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect – the pool area is nice but not huge, the breakfast is solid Greek fare without being over-the-top – but everything just works. The WiFi doesn’t cut out when you’re trying to video call home, the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter, and checkout was literally the smoothest I’ve ever experienced.

If you’re planning to visit during peak season, book early because word is getting out about this place. But honestly, if you can swing it, try for late September or early October. The sea’s still warm enough for swimming, the village isn’t packed, and you’ll actually be able to enjoy that famous Lindos sunset without fighting for a decent photo spot.

  Giota was a brilliant communicator, she was so helpful and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again. Can't thank her enough. We were met on arrival and departure and we spoke during the trip nothing was too much trouble. The bus stop is very close by the apartment

  The property is located near the main road to Lindos, but the noise was really not that annoying, especially as you don't open your windows due to the heat during daytime. The view from the apartment is staggering, even better as the provided pictures. The apartment was perfectly equipped with all required facilities, furthermore we received amenities, towels, etc. which was a plus since you don't meet this kind of service in apartments only in hotels. Huge plus for Giota for being an exceptional manager!
  
  What could be improved: The neighbours below us were really unfriendly. We had a surprise visit from them once, early in the morning, as we were a bit loud during preparation for the day off. Drinking after midnight caused a hangover I guess. Nothing new from British tourists I suppose 🙂 Other than that, the only problem was the very poor Internet connection. The apartments did have WiFi boosters, but it really didn't work that well. This should get fixed.

  The host (Giota) went above and beyond during a challenging time when wildfires ravaged the southern part of the island. Their constant communication throughout our stay was comforting, providing us with updates about the situation, suggesting evacuation routes, and even offering to help us find alternative accommodation. However, that was not needed, as the property remained a tranquil haven.
  In addition to their care and support, the host made sure our stay was nothing short of perfection. Upon arrival, we found local treats and guidance on activities, restaurants, and attractions waiting for us.
  The property itself was very modern, had all amenities and was immaculately maintained. The location was fantastic – allowing us to explore many beauties all around Rhodes and the panoramic vista from the balcony was mesmerizing.
