Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Rhodes over the years, but Pefkos Eye honestly surprised me in the best way possible. The name might sound a bit quirky – I mean, what does that even mean, right? – but once you’re there, you get it. This place has this vantage point where you can actually see everything that matters in Pefki, and I’m not being dramatic here.

The thing about Pefki is that it’s not Lindos (thank god, because honestly, Lindos can be a bit much with all the tour buses), but it’s close enough that you can walk to some really solid tavernas without feeling like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Pefkos Eye sits in this sweet spot where you’re maybe a five-minute stroll from the main beach – and I’m talking about the kind of beach where locals actually go, not just the tourist strips. The hotel itself has that relaxed Greek island vibe without trying too hard, you know? The staff genuinely seems to care, which… well, that’s not always a given at four-star places.

What really got me was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms are clean (I mean really clean, not just “looks clean from a distance”), the air conditioning works properly – crucial in July, trust me – and there’s enough space to actually unpack your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The balconies face different directions depending on your room, but honestly, even the ones that don’t have the full sea view give you these glimpses of olive groves and that typical Rhodes countryside that makes you remember why you came to Greece in the first place. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven around the Greek islands will appreciate.

You can tell this place gets repeat visitors because there’s this comfortable, lived-in feeling without being worn down. I overheard the owner chatting with guests about the best times to visit the Acropolis of Lindos (early morning or late afternoon, if you’re wondering), and he knew their names, their kids’ names… that sort of thing. The breakfast spread actually includes local honey and yogurt that doesn’t taste like it came from a industrial supplier, and they’ll point you toward Mama Sofia’s taverna down the road – which, by the way, has the best moussaka I’ve had outside of Athens, but don’t go on Saturday nights unless you like waiting for a table.

Honestly, with a 9.4 rating, I was expecting maybe some inflated reviews, but this place earned it. It’s not flashy or trying to be something it’s not – it’s just really good at being a comfortable base for exploring this part of Rhodes. Whether you’re planning day trips to the Valley of the Butterflies or just want to alternate between the beach and afternoon naps, Pefkos Eye gets the balance right. Plus, you’re far enough from Rhodes Town to feel like you’re actually on a Greek island, but close enough that you can drive there for dinner if you want more options.

  The studio was perfect, but the private patios – amazing! The bed was extremely comfortable, and the location was perfect. George is an amazing person, and Banana is the cutest dog! We had a perfect stay.

  We liked everything about this place it certainly exceeded our expectations and can't wait to come back we have even selected the room we would like on our return as every room is unique.
  The gardens are beautiful and extremely well maintained always something to new to look at.
  Our room had everything we needed and more for our 11 night stay we are absolutely gutted to be leaving today.

  The apartment was sensational with all the beautiful decor, very spacious very tasteful and comfortable. The host Panayioti was fabulous he always was there for a chat and help with any query.
  Close to shops and all the restaurants and of course beaches.

  In general, the apartment was nice, with a beaufitul outside terrace situated in quiet environment, very close to the main Pefkos street with restaurant and beach. The apartment was just enough for a couple with a baby. The owner was super friendly and very helpful. Cleaning everyday (except sunday), even washed the dishes, when we left some in the rink 🙂 Parking was free on the premises. And our daughter loved the cats outside the apartment 🙂
  
  What could be improved: We came by the end of the busy season in october, so some equipment and parts of the apartment looked like it would need a bit of refurbishment.

  Lovely hotel and perfect location with 5 minute walk to the beach. Easy to take the bus to Lardos Village where we found nice restaurants or Lindos. Good location for exploring the Island with bus. Calm surrondings and lovely garden with nice cats. Excellent cleaning and very helpful owner.
