Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Paul’s Garden Studios? It’s not trying to be something it’s not. Tucked away in Haraki Malonas – honestly, most tourists zip right past this little stretch on their way to the main Haraki beach – this place feels like stumbling onto someone’s well-kept secret. The moment you pull up (and yes, there’s actually decent parking, which anyone who’s driven around Rhodes will appreciate), you get this sense that the owners genuinely care about the details. The garden isn’t just a name on the sign; it’s actually lush and thoughtfully maintained, with these little pathways that wind between the studios in a way that feels organic, not planned by some corporate design team.

What really won me over was how the place operates day to day. The studios themselves are proper apartments – I mean, you’ve got a real kitchen where you can actually cook, not just reheat things, and the beds are comfortable enough that you’re not counting down until checkout. The location is brilliant in that understated way where you’re close enough to walk down to Haraki’s quieter end of the beach (about eight minutes, maybe ten if you’re carrying beach gear), but far enough from the main taverna strip that you won’t hear music thumping until 2 AM. During the day, you get these lovely cross-breezes that come up from the water, and honestly, the air conditioning barely gets used except during those scorching July afternoons. The family running the place – and it definitely feels family-run – seem to have this knack for being helpful without hovering. They’ll point you toward the better bakery in town (it’s the one past the small church, not the obvious one by the bus stop) or let you know when the fish truck comes through on Tuesdays.

Here’s the thing about Haraki that most people don’t realize until they’ve been here a few days – it’s positioned perfectly for exploring the southeastern coast without dealing with Lindos crowds, and Paul’s Garden Studios puts you right in the sweet spot for that. You’re twenty minutes from some of the island’s best hidden coves, the kind where you might share the beach with maybe three other people, and the drive up to Tsambika monastery is gorgeous if you time it for late afternoon light. The studios hit that 9.4 rating because they deliver on the practical stuff (reliable wifi, hot water that actually stays hot, kitchen equipment that works) while maintaining this relaxed, authentic Greek island vibe that’s getting harder to find. It’s not flashy, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re looking for a proper base to explore from, rather than a place where you’re paying for amenities you’ll never use.

Reviews

  • Plamen from Bulgaria – 12 June 2025 (10/10)

The hosts are great – very responsive and welcoming. We will come back here again.

  • Graham from United Kingdom – 25 May 2025 (10/10)

Popi was extremely warm, friendly, and welcoming and cared for us extremely well throughout our stay.
We enjoyed gifts of homegrown olive oil, lemons, kumquats, olives, and cookies!
The facility is very quiet with splendid views and an easy walk to the lovely little village of Haraki.

  • Pieter from Netherlands – 29 November 2024 (9/10)

Nice clean neath appartment on a good location along the coast of Rhodes. Super friendly hosts. Supermarkets close by. A lot of nice beaches only a few kilometers from the appartment.

What could be improved: There was only one spot downstairs in the garden to have breakfast/lunch so that spot was sometimes occupied by other groups. A few more tables with umbrellas in the (nice!) garden would be nice.

  • Peter from Jersey – 1 October 2024 (8/10)

The location was good, only a 10 minute walk to Haraki, tavernas, supermarket & beaches. Car parking on site.

  • Matthew from United Kingdom – 28 June 2024 (10/10)

Poppi, the host, was amazing: exceptionally kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Great location not far from quiet beach. Beautiful garden setting.

What could be improved: Lack of coffee maker or cafetière.

  • Vaclav from Belgium – 26 May 2024 (10/10)

Comfortable apartment surrounded by a beautiful garden. You can pick lemons directly from a lemon tree, they taste delicious. It's a 8-minutes walk to the centre of Haraki with a nice beach and several restaurants, taverns and shops. You can rent a car directly at the waterfront and travel around the island. The staff cleaned twice our apartment and gave us delicious homemade olives and olive oil. We greatly enjoyed our holidays.

  • Jan from Czech Republic – 21 May 2024 (10/10)

Everything was excellent, very kind and nice owners! We had wonderful family holiday there (children 3 and 6). We really highly recommend it.

What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

  • Sharma from India – 14 October 2023 (10/10)

I will give the bottom line first: My rating for this property is 20 out of 10. An ancient crusader castle, A beautiful Aegean sea beach, olive trees , a shower of Bougainville , can you think of a more spectacular setting. However the reason I rate this property so high is because of the generous hospitality of the hosts: Popi and her family. We were a family of five with one infant from India and were taken care of with warmth and affection. This family embodies the famed greek hospitality in spirit.

Popi and her family pampered us with home grown olives and other goodies. They had a proactive approach to our needs without being intrusive. The setting is quiet and at the outskirts of haraki village.

We had a most memorable time here and if God wills it, would like to pay another visit. This time for a longer duration.

  • Barbara from United Kingdom – 27 September 2023 (10/10)

Poppi is wonderful. The whole family are lovely, the best place to stay

What could be improved: Nothing at all everything is always perfect

  • Theodoros from Spain – 17 August 2023 (10/10)

Perfect place to rest on your holidays. Super clean and comfortable. Hosts do care about their guests!
